since the odds are about the same as the oil getting 1st overall pick, what if u win a billion dollars, what would the car lineup in your garage look like?

Seth Jones would be my pick right now. Top D prospect with very reachable top pairing potential. Sounds like exactly what we want. Like Ryan Murray but even better.

Like a couple have mentioned already about the one ball thing, it does only take one ball. This would prove the draft lottery isn't fixed......many fans would be irate but we'd be laughing our arses off.

I'd love a top 5 or even 10 pick. Mack, Jones, Barkov, Monahan and the guy I really really like Lindholm would set us up GREAT fr the future. Even a top 10 pick will net us a great player. This draft is outstanding!!!

I think if we won with only one ball people would be even more irate and showing it as proof that it was "fixed".

I can't wait to read this board if we finish 26th and win the lottery for 1st overall.

I bet Calgary would win the lottery one day. Interesting to see this board explode then.

Don't forget that Calgary Puck would explode and take half of the city with it. It pretty much did when we won the lottery for Yak.

Question for anyone: Are we more likely to get a high draft choice if there is no season or if there is a season and we finish around 22-24 overall???

If the Oilers have the first pick, they've got to take Seth Jones.

Taylor Hall
Nail Yakupov
Jordan Eberle
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
Seth Jones
Justin Schultz

Great core for years to come

Not in this draft if MacKinnon, Barkov, Monahan are available. Yakupov needs a centre to maximize his talents. What if RNH goes down with an injury? We are so thin at the centre position its not even funny. Our dcore is fine.

Our dcore is fine? ya, keep telling yourself that, the Oilers defence is not fine at all.The Oilers can get a 2nd line centreman through free agency.

I know we are missing that #1D franchise dman but we have enough #2Dmen in the system.

Petry, J. Schultz, Klefbom, Fedun, Marincin, Gernat, Davidson, and Musil are all dmen that will play in the NHL/Oilers. We have no one except RNH that is/will be a NHL centre.

Seth Jones could very well be the bpa in June. The 2013 NHL Entry draft is setting up to be like 2010.

Taylor vs Tyler

Seth vs Nathan

in my mind, there are a lot of people here, that totaly underestimate barkov. he played his first pro hockey game with 16 years and 29 days. in 32 games last season, again, as a 16 year old, he had 16 points. he has reached that in 13 games this season. the SM league is a prety good one and he is playing against men.

Teuvo Teräväinen had 18 pts in 40 games in his draft year, last season. Barkov is also pretty big, so size will be no matter here, he could be around 6` 4`` and 220lbs we he is done growing. if you where to but geographie aside and the fact that the fans always like a northamerican better and really go bpa, you have hardly to consider barkov as no1!

Seth Jones. Size, speed and scoring as well as toughness. Either that or the next best centre available.

BPA. Nathan McKinnon. For anyone that has watched the two play will know the difference. Then we make a package deal.

RNH vs. Larsson vs. Couturier
MacKinnon vs. Jones vs. Barkov

Not that I think they chose wrong in 2011 but having the chance to run down the other track would be great. Either Barkov or Jones is fine by me. I won't decide which is a better fit right now because the development of Marincin, Musil, Gernat, Simpson, Lander and Pitlick would influence my choice, along with the performance of the three draftees.

With their luck the pick would've been traded away.

Imagine this:

Calgary has traded their first rounder to Toronto and Toronto ends up with the first and 2nd overall picks. THAT would cause the biggest HFboard explosion ever.

To pick another forward ahead of a great defenseman like Jones would be crazy.
