I'm going with Parise just because he was the second captain to take this team to the SCF. I still feel disgusted putting him ahead of the orginal Gio.

I probably could have put Parise at 15th. Despite being disgusted how a guy like Richer would end up behind him. Definitely would put Parise over LOLmez. Not because I hate Gomer more, but because I think Parise should go ahead. He was the second captain to lead this franchise to the SCF.

Gomez and Broten both have more career pts with the Devils than Parise, and Gomez has 2 cups and a Calder

When us people that don't have kids, have kids, there is nothing to tell them of note about Parise associated with the Devils other than he was a captain - in other words as the years go on he'll be forgotten about as a Devil

I can say the same thing for Broten too though. I grew up watching him too with the Devils. He was one of our best players during some of the Mickey Mouse era, but I really can't say the same things about him as Muller who was there with him, or many who came after him. You have to remember scoring was higher during Broten's days too.

Our Mickey Mouse teams outscored many of our current teams. And were also outscored at the other end by miles more than our current teams as well.

Aaron will be my first kids first name and Broten the middle

When asked how he/she got both names, I will be sure to get back to you asap

Cerealy though, never mentioned anything regarding Broten or anybody being house hold name for Devils fans - Parise will likely fall into the shoes Broten is currently in for most Devils fans, nothing more than a former player and in Parise's case, captain

edit: and I "know" you enough by now that being dickish there wasn't your intention

From that era the only players I could tell people young enough not to see play are a few. Chico, Muller(Was dynamic at the time, but went downhill just a few years after leaving Jersey) and Maclean who's time carried over into our success era. Sundstrom was a very flashy player I personally liked. Verbeek, and Broten were great, but they wouldn't be guys I would talk about a lot unless I was giving history lessons on the Devils.

Broten is top 10 in almost every Devils offensive category.

Gionta is tugging at my heartstrings here. Recency bias be damned, I'm voting for him.

Hard to not vote Gio or Zach here, and very hard to vote Gomez... but I voted Gomez.

It's weird there was so much support for Bruce Driver but none at all for Aaron Broten.

I think the best choice here is Gomez. HM Parise.

Driver has a more awesome name. That's clearly it.

More seriously, I think it's because Driver has a Cup. Also Broten played for the Devils in the 80s when we sucked, and most Devils fans either don't want to remember those years, or are too young to do so.
