When he's actually been on the ice, he's looked a little better lately I guess. I've pretty much written him off and I don't really pay too much attention to him other than when I'm hoping he doesn't make a bad decision. At least he's not getting scratched like he was earlier in the year, I guess that says something.
Saad and Leddy are on a different level and it's clear as day. Not a knock to the other players. Shaw has been fantastic all year.
Leddy certainly, but Saad not so much. He has looked good in spurts but needs more consistency in his game - he hasn't stood out as much as you suggest. Pirri has been Hogs biggest offensive threat from what I have seen. I also like what I've seen from Flick and Paradis. I can see those two, (eventually) as serious contenderrs for 4th line duties on the Hawks.
Admittedly my opinion is based on only a handful of games but I think the seasoning for all these kids is of benefit to the Hawks in the big picture. I do have my doubts about the coaching staff in Rockford though. The team is not playing disciplined hockey, they should be better in the transition game and on the defensive side of the puck. Hopefully those aspects will improve as the season progresses.

I'm really frustrated by what we've seen the last couple seasons. Too much abrasive b.s. and I can't seem to find any emphasis on either finding a winning system that the franchise can succeed with or on player development.
5-2 Rockford. Offense has really been clicking the past couple games. As long as they don't act like idiots and commit a bunch of penalties then they are a good team. The key is goaltending and penalties. The offense wasn't right at the beginning of the year but hopefully it continues to be effective. We certainly have the talent to be one of the best offenses in the AHL.
St Pierre gets the empty netter from Smith and makes it 4-1 Icehogs
3rd straight win. Won 7 of last 9 I believe as well.
Now in 1st place in the division, although they have played a couple more games than most teams. Nice to see the offense is really clicking and we knew they had the talent.
The Hogs have like 9 forwards capable of 40+ points with Shaw, Beach, Morin, Kruger, Pirri, St Pierre, Hayes, Saad, Smith. That is incredible scoring depth. Plus you add in Leddy, Clendening and Lalonde and that is some good offensive punch from the back end. The only question will be defense, goaltending and dumb penalties. They have been playing so much more composed and committing less penalties and what do you know? They WIN more.
