Good point. When it comes to college hockey an 18 year old true freshman isn't the norm. There are plenty that are, but if you look at any roster the majority of guys are at least 19 as freshmen, sometimes 20 and even 21 in some cases.

Figured this might be the best place for this. Most recent NHL Central Scouting Rankings for North America. CHL running the show as always, but more so than normal. USHL numbers have dropped a bit this time around.

Accoring to @RenLavoieRDS , Carter Hutton is on waivers.
Not a huge shock, IMO.

Offensive Filppula? Man, if TT can be as good as Filppula we have a gem.

Adam Clendening and Martin St. Pierre were selected to the AHL All-Star game.

Pretty good for a 20 year old rookie!

Yep, and he started the season as a 19-year-old to boot. Clendening's seemingly impressed everywhere he's been this year: Prospect camp, Rockford, the srimmage last night. He still needs to come along more defensively, but it's exciting to see him transition his offense so smoothly thus far, early, in his Pro career.

I say it is the other way. Clenny might make Leddy trade bait.

As much as I like Clendening, I don't think he makes Leddy expendable. Clendening is a much better PPQB. He's overall a better offensive Dman.. but Leddy's an elite skater (not to say Clendening's a poor skater) and because of that, is the better PMD overall. Chicago's system needs PMD's more than OFD's IMO, but in saying that, Clendening would certianly boost Chicago's PP whenever he's ready.

Not going to get too crazy about a young Dman but with our pipeline you keep Leddy and Clendening.

Jokerit lost 1-3 at home to Tappara. Ilari Filppula injured again, no points for TT who started the game on line with Riku Hahl and Steve Moses, line may have changed during the game. Re-match tomorrow in Tampere.

How are Shalunov and Carruth expected to develop?

Either of them stand a good chance to make the NHL between now and the 2014-15 season?

short answer: no

long answer: there is always a chance. You never know what will happen especially with Goalies.

Rockford is wearing the pink jerseys tonight and they're playing like it. It's 4-1 Grand Rapid only halfway through the first period.

Yeah. If anything it means Oduya could be bought out or traded. He's got the worst contract on the team, imo.

I'm not watching this game, but what it sounds like chaos.

The score is 10-6 for Grapd Rapids and there have been something like 13 players ejected from the game?

Huge bench brawl between the hogs and GR. Hutton will be suspended. Losing 10-6 atm. Beach got choked too

Just watched the fight, it was nuts. I've got to say, the IceHogs owned that fight lol. Hutton absolutely destroyed their goalie. And Beach was wailing on the same dude for about 5 minutes. Nuts.

Lost in tonight's shenanigans, Brandon Pirri (1g 3a) became Rockford #IceHogs AHL franchise leading scorer 48g 83a 131pts/176gp #Blackhawks

Congrats to Brandon
