Actually, that stuff has been in hockey longer than you've been alive.

Beach is a *****, but Sheahan and Ferrero are are bigger *****es.
Don't really care about McArdle, because he ain't Hawks property.

3rd man in and jumping top line players for no reason has no place in hockey. Jumping guys who throw cheap shots, sure thats been in hockey. Third man ins happen but have always been looked down on. Sending out a line of goons to start a line brawl with one of the top lines in the league has NEVER been part of hockey

Sheahan might be a *****, I dont really know I've only seen him attempt to fight once. Ferraro isnt a *****. Hes a scorer who will step up a weight class or two to stick up for guys on his team, knowing that he'll lose and he'll keep on doing it. Has Beach ever actually had a fight in pro hockey to stick up for a teammate? Thats actually a genuine question not trying to troll or stir the pot, I'm interested to see if he has because I really doubt it.

This thread is to talk about Hawks prospects - not for opposing fans to cry about their players getting beat up. Please take it elsewhere newfy.

Don't be mean, Sarava. Wings fans have to talk about something to take their mind off of their terrible team.

Kent Simpson and the Hogs choked away a 3-0 lead halfway through the second period today against the Texas Stars to eventually lose 6-3.

Last few posts sum up why Hawks made move for Karlsson

Hutton injured (Sucks anyway) and Simpson is strugging enough in ECHL he isn't ready to be thrown into AHL fire

Grand Rapids suspensions, Louis-Marc Aubry six games and Triston Grant one game.
Odd how three Grand Rapids players jumped onto the ice from their bench to begin the bench clearing brawl but the IceHogs get the brunt of the AHL's wrath.

AHL rules say there's a mandatory 6-game suspension for the first player to come off the bench for a fight.

In this brawl, the first players off the bench were Flick and Aubry.

Beach got choked during the brawl and lost consciousness in the tunnel... check out this video, shows him getting pulled from the scrum @ 2:25 and then face down unconscious @ 2:56.

Scary stuff.

Early on in this thread, someone that was at the game, commented on this. Beach tweeted he was ok, just bumps and bruises

TT played center on Tuesday, centering Hardt and Pulkkinen. No points, Jokerit won 2-1 after the shootout.

Carruth's upside looks like a back-up at this point. I would expect him to play 2 full season's in the AHL before getting a serious look in the NHL.

Shalunov's a bigger question mark. I think he'll come over, but I have a hard time gauging how far away he is from the NHL. IMO, he still needs work defensively and could still beef up a bit, though he does have decent size at this point. He has a great shot and is a pretty good offensive player overall but he didn't show a lot at the WJC after strong performance with Russia at the Subway Super Series. At this point, he could be a 2nd/3rd line tweener. As for ETA: No, I don't think Shalunov will be in the NHL by 2014-15. He's competing with Saad, Teravainen, McNeill, Danault, Morin, Pirri, J.Hayes, K.Hayes, Smith, etc for forward spots and his game still needs work. If he comes over, say, next year, I think he'll spend 2 years in the AHL.. so, 2015-16's a better bet.

Danault has been on fire with Moncton. 4 GP, 3G, 5A, 8P, +6, 4 PIM

McNeill's been just as good in January. 4GP, 4G, 3A, 7P, +3, 2 PIM

Hayes also put up 4 assists with a +3 in two losses this weekend.

All great news, other than BC losing both games.

On another note - I saw somewhere yesterday that Kent Simpson is the only goalie the Hawks drafted in the top 2 rounds since they drafted Corey Crawford with a late 2nd rounder in 2003.

Well, no wonder we have so much garbage in the net. Does this not blow up the 'let's draft a bunch of goalies late in the draft and see what happens' theory? The Hawks have been trying and failing with that strategy for the past decade.

You gotta give to get. It's time for Stan to grow a pair and trade for something good.

Danault had 2 assists in a 6-1 Moncton win. McNeill was held off the scoresheet in a 3-2 win for PA.
