Two goals for TT when Jokerit beat SaiPa 3-1 at home (first win against them this season). Got a lucky bounce on his first (which ended up as the game winner), second was an empty netter.

Mark McNeill scored the tying goal with 0.1 seconds left in the game and then scored in the shootout as PA beat Victoria 6-5; McNeill also had an assist.

Moncton is currently riding an 8 game winning streak, and Danault is a huge part of it.

14 points in 8 games. +12.

In fairness, I think he's playing on a line with Dmitri Jaskin, who's put up a ridiculous 30 points in his last 11 games, but 14 points in 8 games is still great.

It's really hard not to get excited about this guy. He'll probably be playing much later into the season than Rockford, so we won't get to see how he does against pro competition until next year, but it'll be interesting to see how he does in the playoffs. Regardless, can't wait to see him in training camp next year.

About time.

No ill will against the guy, but he was clearly overmatched in every single professional North American hockey league.

Hopefully he'll have a better time in Europe. There's a lot to enjoy in Germany.

Have a friend that's played in that league for three or four years now. Absolutely loves it over there.

Video of the goal

Teräväinen improved last year when the games got tougher and looks like he's doing the same this year too.

When I tried watching the video I got this error message:
tapahtui virhe. Ole yhteydessa asiakaspalveluumme.

Google Translate tells me it means:
"An error occurred. No contact our customer service."

Something's a little lost in translation though.. Was anyone else able to view the video?

just great to hear Teuvo is doing well. Already outscored his last season with less games

Teuvo also went pointless for the first 8 games of the season or so, so if you take those out (which of course is a little foolish) he has been going at a near PPG clip since getting the monkey off his back. Took a move to the wing though.

Where is Teuvo playing now? Centre or wing? I'm pretty sure someone said or I saw that he was playing centre after getting back from the WJC, is that still the case?

I'm not a Jokerit fan so not 100% sure but I think he's on the wing. A short scouting trip into the Jokerit-section of the Finnish HFboards seems to re-assure that but you'll have to wait for someone who watches Jokerit games to confirm.

whatever position Teräväinen plays right now, I don't see his future in the NHL as a Center. He'll be a Wing for us

What does everyone think of Ristolainen? Just checked out the Feb rankings and he's currently falling around where we've been picking the last couple years... I like the guy a lot, curious what others think. I don't get involved heavily in prospects... but this is a guy I've noticed a couple times.

A guy with his size and his game, playing top minutes in a pro league at 18 years old isn't likely to bust, I know that much.

I don't know if he'll ever be an elite defenseman in the NHL, but even Aki Berg (who I've heard called Ristolainen's lowest possible potential) became a decent complimentary piece even though he never lived up to his draft position.

Ristolainen is a safe pick to be a physical top-4 defenseman with upside to boot. If we go with him in the mid-late first, especially considering the top-end pieces we already have and our lack of serious blueline talent in the prospect system, it'd be hard to complain about that.

I don't know what people think of Corey Pronman - personally, I like him - but he says Ristolainen has top-pairing potential. Plays an all-round great game and has high-end hockey sense. He obviously has very good size (6'3", 200lbs+) aswell.

Personally, I don't see him falling out of the top 10 or 12. But, as was shown with TT last year, anything can happen. If he's available when the Hawks pick or if he's available within 4-5 picks of Chicago, I'd trade up and take him. He's a very good bet to be a top-4 Dman and he's been playing regularly in the Finnish Elite Leage (SM-Liiga) since last year.
