I have not got a chance to see any of Rockford this season. Is he playing that well?

Jimmy Hayes and Morin have both been putting up points for a while now.

Morin (since Jan. 9th) - GP 14, G 6, A 5, Pts 11
J.Hayes (since Jan. 11th) - GP 13, G 10, A 3, Pts 13

Both guys probably deserve a chance, along with Pirri, but what's Chicago to do? Neither guy really belongs on a 4th line, you can't disrupt the top-9 at this point so there's really nothing they can do but continue to play well, be patient and hopefully they get a shot.

Hayes could be very useful on PP

yep, we could package him with Stalberg to get a #2 Center with playmaking skills. That would help our PP

Both still need to work on their skating but are otherwise very close to being NHL regulars.

I never saw Hayes' skating as a hindrance. In fact, for a big man, I think he has very good speed and acceleration. He's certainly a better skater than Bickell. Maybe it's just me, but Hayes' skating doesn't seem like it will hold him back. IMO, his biggest problem has been his consistency.

From Jayes tenure as a Hawk, its his lack of mean that will hold him back from a productive NHL career.

He's never going to be mean. But if he's willing to just stand in front of the net and use his soft hands, he'll be given a shot on the PP.

Slots on the team will open up over the next 2 years. Id like to see JHayes promoted.

I looked at Rockford's stats today and see they moved up on the leader board. I think Morin caught St. Pierre for the team lead in goals.
Thanks Hoss for breaking it down in the last 13 & 14 GPs ....

I think with the players we are looking to extend next season, 13-14 season will be when we see some of Rockford finally make their way up. Pirri, Morin, Hayes will all get looks I imagine.

We're just going to have to be patient with these guys. Its clear they want to use the Detroit model for a lot of these guys and make them really force their way up. Plus, there will be roster spots to be had next year, no sense trying to force a trade to fit a guy from your system up here this year.

we could be one of the youngest teams in the league next year with all these young guns knocking on the door. and with us having to drop some salary I can see around 4-5 openings for guys like Morin, both Hayes brothers, Clendening, Danault, McNeill, Johns, TT, etc..

Anyone have any clue why Brett Bruneteau is listed as a prospect in Chicago's system? Originally drafted by Washington in 2007 and currently playing for the University of Vermont. He has 8 points in 23 games. He's 5'11" and he's an '89 birth year.

BC have suspended Kevin Hayes indefinitely for violating team rules.

Was there a "futures" in the Brouwer trade?

It all depends on how long he's out. If he's only going to be out a few games than it doesn't really matter. If they're going to keep him out indefinitely and just continue with that, then they have to sign him.

Weird thing about Kayes.

Really hope it's not one of these scandals that seem to be way too common right now.

EDIT: Twitter tells me that Kayes practiced with the team yesterday. Wonder what could've happened in 24 hours that would cause this.

If it was one of those type of things I think we would have heard about it before his dismissal

Boston Media got ahead of BU stories ,, Would have done same here

-- I hope --

Kayes doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would do something outrageous. Obviously, I don't know the guy personally.. but I would have a hard time believing it.

Probably continued to be late, or ignored curfew or was drinking or something like that. Hope the Hawks sign him, would love to see him in Rockford.
