Watched some of Danault last night. He scored twice on PP playing point in 4-2 Moncton win. Oh and uh...19 for 25 in the dot; maybe we could use a guy like that?
First thing I noticed about Danault is he holds the stick and digs it like Yanic Perreault.

Yes, Danault gets down low and scraps for it; like a dog fighting for a bone.
It would be interesting to know how many goals are scored as a direct result of possession from face-offs. Both of Jonny's goals against the Blows on Thursday started with him winning the draw and were scored by him going to the net. It's great when the guy who starts the play ends up finishing it.
Why would you stop reading there? That is 1000% accurate AS IS the fact that Marian Hossa is one of the 5 best players in the game today.
Don't read the stat sheet my friend, watch and understand the game. Marian Hossa can play at any time of game, up or down, PK or PP, is as good a for-checker as they make. Just an amazing player and sure am glad he's a hawk and will be for life.
Kane's skill set is one that if he's not producing on the score sheet he is pretty much useless. Don't get me wrong, he is a very good offensive player but he isn't near the player 81 is.
Teräväinen scored the game-winner and also had an assist when Jokerit beat Lukko 4-1. He was awarded as the 2nd best player of the game. Video of the goal

Offense is one thing, while everything else is a always a different thing. "He's a four way player, he plays offense, defense, cleans cars and washes windows."
Hossa has one major flaw in his game - he doesn't use his linemates very effectively. As much as you would like to lump this into "offense," it's the main reason he has to run up and down the ice so much.
Kane is just a flat out better player when everything is said and done, regardless of whether he pumps gas or not.
Has anyone watched Pirri in Rockford to see if he's improved defensively? He looked really good in the preseason last year and I'd love to see him get a call-up. If anything, the Hawks have got to showcase some of these guys a bit to help increase their stock as trade bait. The log jam is going to get even more intense if guys like Ross, Danault and McNeil are competing next year.
I hope Hayes gets the call up. He has been the best Ice Hog add all 3 games I went to this year and also has played with the team before, including in the playoffs.

Kane's flaw is turning it over at the blueline on a regular basis. Not recognizing that the blueline is stacked 4 across and not dumping it in. No PK. Comparing the two is silly when their games are significantly different. Hossa is stronger on the puck...perhaps the best in the league. Choosing one or the other is a personal choice...yet you need both type of players to win a Cup.
Too bad I couldn't stay home to watch this comeback. Down 3-0 as mentioned earlier, the Hogs came back to win 7-4. Jimmy Hayes got the hat trick (his third goal was an empty netter) plus 2 assists. This is back to back nights the Hogs beat Edmonton's top farm team.
