To be honest, I'm fine with all the roster moves.

Green played well and could have more chemistry with the kids. Sitting Martindale for House means the Barons can dress a tougher lineup against a division opponent.

edit: Noticed Lander is sitting too, this team will be a mess when Hall shows up. Someone has to be going to Stockton soon.

Nelson was saying that he'd be swapping LW's out on that top line quite a bit to see what works the best. Hall's going to be on that line soon enough anyway.

Kinda bummed that Martindale doesn't get to play. I'd love to see him on that 2nd line with Pajaarvi and Hartikainen.

I'm actually pretty excited to see the 3rd line play. I like Arcobello's hustle out there, and he looks pretty skilled too. Hopefully Tyrvainen opens up some space for Arco and Pitlick. I haven't really seen Tyrvainen play much, so I'll keep a close eye on him. I'm not sure what his upside is, is he just a pest or can he contribute more offensively?

He was starting to find his offensive game towards the end of last season if I remember correctly.
I think he scored some short handed goals too.

Why on earth is Lander a healthy scratch?

Dammit. We're only past 2 games and I'm already getting angry.

At this rate they'll have Lander playing in the ECHL with Magnus.

I'm surprised Martindale isn't going to be playing now that he's leading in assists.

If the season keeps on "keepin on"/lost games then Arcobello should probably be dealt. He is a great AHLer, so was Tremblay, but Lander, VV, Martindale should probably get some time if Hall, Nuge, Ebs are going to be down there...

I like the other guys for the fourth line...tyrvainen/house/byers/abney etc.

I am looking at this like an extended pre season due to the skaters we have on the roster and no restrictions on how many you can keep. I am sure we will see some more players go down to the ECHL after the next set of games.

I have to say what I worried about a few weeks ago is coming true.

That is people freaking out because guys are sitting or being demoted. It was going to happen, there is just too many players down there and it's not going to get better once Hall is in.

At some point I expect a couple guys to go down to the ECHL.

with the influx of nhl guys they probably have a few excess players, everyone will get a fair go and then they will ice the best team possible.

I have no problem with Nelson keeping a few of the "bubble" players around for a couple of weeks. The competition should eventually settle who makes the grade. I think that he will know enough after a few more games and then we can begin our second guessing.

How can that be a collective when not a single person has said that? Are you purposely trying to be a drama queen or stir the pot? That said I posted it somewhere and based off of memory RNH and Eberle went scoreless in back to back games very few times last year in the NHL, and the longest streak that either had without a point was 5 for RNH (including the game that he was hurt and played something like 3 minutes in and the 2 games after his return) and 3 games IIRC for Eberle. This was in the NHL, I'd be very surprised if either guy doesn't get a point this weekend especially if the league keeps giving them 7 PP's a night. For all of the talk that this is an improved league it's still the AHL and most of the players on teams rosters are AHLers or NHL/AHL tweeners.

He's also dealing with the possibility of having a lot of players taken away if a new CBA gets signed so by keeping some extra bodies they'll be used to the systems, etc. if that happens.

I don't think that is a worry anymore.

Interesting lines, wish PRV and Harti were switched around though, Magnus on the left wing so far has been nothing but bad news.

It's not looking good is it? That said his job is to coach and keep his troops ready so I can understand that line of thinking.

Paajarvi will be the main offensive threat on that line and will likely carry the puck more on that line so he might cut cross ice more and drive the RW side now that he doesn't have a guy like Eberle to pass the puck to there.

Fair enough, didn't consider that.
