Watching the LE game from last night and tbh so far Granlund is looking decent. First two goals against were just team mates looking like headless chickens. First goal Granlund danced around a LE player at the blue line and tapped a sweet pass to Fredddddy who instead of shooting wide open in the slot decided to pass the puck to LE and in 5 seconds it was in our net. Second goal, honestly don't know what happened. Its a standard two on two with Houston having a backchecker comming back. The cameraman loses them at Houstons blue line, finds the play and Cuma and, I think, Caron are in nowhere near their proper positions with Cuma behind the puck carrier and Caron in front of him kinda losing his footing while the other LE player skates to the other side of the net alone and goal!

looks like we got a stream for the game tonight..excited to watch! Can anyone who has seen more of the games give me some insight on the team??

tell me whats up with Granlund?? He started on a tear and now has been scoreless and awful in the plus minus category.

How has Hackett looked? Recently he seems to be coming around no??

Phillips figuring out the pro game since his early season struggles?

Larsson still a beast?

I haven't been able to catch an Aeros game for a few weeks so just trying to get a feel for what is going on that I can't get from a stat sheet!

Thought I'd post a few game takes from the game last night since I finally got the chance to catch the Aeros play for the first time in a couple weeks..

Larsson-The kid is an absolute workhorse, he's very strong on the puck and with his stick. Not the fastest player but has speed(although an unorthodox skating stride). He caused some havoc the entire game with his relentless work ethic on the forecheck. I think if the lockout ever ends and Granlund moves on to the Wild he should start putting up more points offensively playing with more skilled players than Broda and Palmer.

Hackett-He played OK. Almost seemed lazy at times and he has a very non chalant, laxydasical style. He often relies on his athleticism and while he can make the unreal highlight save I'd like to see him be more solid on the simple shots. I think he could learn a thing or two from Backsrom's game. It would be nice to see Kuemper come in and steal some starts to push Hackett, I think he may be getting too comfortable knowing he is going to start every game.

Granlund-Was curious to see what was up with Mig64 since the injury and he looked every bit as good as he did earlier in the season. He made about 4 passes that make you go ????? how did he just do that? He set up the Coyle goal and should've had an assist had Cuma buried the OT chance. Also a 5 ft backhand lob across the offensive zone to the defenseman on a PP that eventually led to the Coyle goal was just filthy. A pass that only players with that skill could make(think Datsyuk here). His wrist shot is an NHL shot and I'd like to see him use it more. One thing that you never hear about that he is very good at is the defensive side of the puck, he stopped 2 or 3 rushes with very good back checks and that part of his game is unadvertised, but extremely proficient.

Genoway-I thought he was the Aeros best defenseman by far. I think Torch realizes this too as he played a million minutes. Id be curious to see how many minutes he actually played.

Cuma-Improvement from other games I've seen. Still probably a bust but if he could gain some more confidence and eliminate that one bone head play every two periods then he would be fine. He also lined up one nice open ice hit and I'd like to see more of that.

Phillips-Skating is still the issue here, tough to generate offense playing on the 4th line and I am surprised they haven't moved him to wing yet to get him with more offensive players.

Zucker-Had two token assists but wasn't very noticeable tonight. Having a heck of a season though and wasn't a bad game by any means.

Coyle-wasnt very noticeable but he knows where to be and seems to have a knack for scoring. Keep playing him with a Granlund type center and on the PP and he will pot 30+ every year. 25+ in the NHL in his future.

Palmieri-I liked his game. If a perfect world we could get the Palmieri from Houston to transfer over to the NHL but I'm not sure it will ever happen.

Just going off stats/reputation:

Granlund was hurt for a while, doesn't seem to have gotten the groove back yet.

The entire top line went -16 over two games, so it wasn't just him but probably all of them were sucking. Most of the rookies seem to have struggled defensively this year.

Hackett has been up and down but a little better recently, probably because the defense is playing a lot better.

Phillips hasn't had much impact but at least the coach isn't complaining about his defense anymore.

Larsson seems to be a great two-way player.

Larsson has slicker hands than I thought. His overall body movement is good too.

He's everything advertised...Elite vision and playmaking ability. Passing is second to none and too good for the AHL.

What he does that wasn't so advertised is his defensive abilities and back checks etc. He is a great player defensively and that seemed to never be mentioned.

Also his wrist shot is NHL calibre. Its a laser and that came a bit unadvertised as well.

Before his broken ankle he was a top AHL player and now 8 games after the injury he is back at it scoring 3 goals in 3 games and seems to be back on track. With roughly a PPG on the season as a total.

But on the other hand, not very physical, and in fact has been a little contact shy first games back.

Got crushed pretty good Saturday and realized he lived, which is good for his development.

He's been pretty physical imo. I've noticed him finishing a lot of hits in big ways. Idk if we get different streams or something but I think that hit you are talking about has been the only time in the past 5 games where he was on the wrong side of a hit. Even along the boards, he looks alot stronger then anyone his size normally is.

Agreed. Absolutely no disappointment compared to expectations, but I would also like to see him use his body more in checking now that he seems to have bulked up a bit. Just a few glimpses so far!

Per GM Jim Mill, Couture's a guy they've had their eye on, wanted to give a shot if the opportunity came up.

Unfortunately, opportunity for an ECHL guy means more Aeros are injured. Like this signing though. Much needed grit, veteran character.

Really not feeling those alternate sweaters. Seriously, not even a bear paw. If it weren't for the little Aeros/Wild logos on the shoulders, here's what I thought the score was:

Everblades 4 - FedEx guys 8

I like them. Kind of have this old-school feel while remaining unique.

they remind of early video games where you customize your look with a logo you pick out of a preloaded clip art pack and a color wheel.

In other news, CSN Houston will start broadcasting some Aeros games soon but they will be shown a day later.
