I was at both games in Abbottsford. Friday night was a pretty dissapointing showing by pretty much the whole team. Saturday night on the other hand everyone came out ready to play and they pretty much dominated from start to finish. It was great to see Phillips get a goal and an assist(added way after the game ended, on Larssons second) as well as log a ton of ice time, and time on the pp. He's definitely becoming more comfortable with his game at this level and finding his role on the team. It certainly was tough watching him hit another post Friday night though, I spoke to him briefly after the game and he said it must have been the fifteenth post he's hit this year. It definitely took him awhile to start finding his touch again, and to be more comfortable with the faster, more crowded style of game play(when compared to any CHL league) but he's also had some pretty bad luck with posts and absolute robbery saves taking away sure goals. I still think there is a bright future for the kid.
