So I got sick of the Wild and made a new one with Anaheim. I already simmed a season and got to the second round.

You know what really grinds my gears? The fact that I'm out of the playoffs in 4 games against COLUMBUS after winning the Presidents' Trophy. Goals went 18-2. Like... what the ****? Also had a first round exit with the Wild after winning the Presidents'. Anaheim is the new Vancouver.

The Blue Jackets got off to a quick start in their first game of the 2013-2014 season, scoring a pair of power play goals by Jack Johnson and Cam Atkinson, but the Penguins would grind their way back in the third period, scoring all 4 goals in the final frame. Pittsburgh played a very physical game, outhitting the Blue Jackets 21-8, and sending several Blue Jackets players to the locker room with various injuries, which undoubtedly had an effect on their ability to hold the lead.
"We just didn't match their intensity," said Columbus' head coach. "Even though they took a few penalties there in the first and we were able to capitalize, we were just outworked and outmatched physically. We needed a better commitment on the physical side and we didn't get it."
James Wisniewski left the game with concussion-like symptoms and will be monitored in the coming weeks. Colton Gillies is also expected to miss time with an arm injury after he fell awkwardly from a Shane Doan hit.
it was a tough offseason for me. the draft was weak, I had Malkin drop to a 91, Crosby to a 95, Letang to a 90, William Karlsson to a 81, Gaborik to an 89, Giordano to a 84 so I basically had the majority of my team drop. Fleury went up to a 87, Despres to a 81 but those were the only big one's.
Nevermind I found him on Google. Did you edit him or is does he naturally perform well?

Smith was a first overall sniper in 14 draft. 40+ goals a year when paired with BR.
Mursak will be gone soon. He only has like 13 goals approaching the trade deadline.
Thinking of moving Erik Karlsson. Philly wants him bad! They Offered Giroux for him straight up.

Aw man, does BR get really good? I just shipped him away and a couple of other prospects to have the chance to draft Ekblad.
He is so good that I am going to play my dynasty until he retires. Then I will either switch teams, or retire (and start a new one, which I will probably draft him into).
He is an 85 overall. His passing is 95+, checking, defense stuff is all 90's. Skating is 90+. Shootong is high 80's. Max goals was 30ish, max assists (diff season) was 60+.

Habs GM Deku Scrub was certainly right when he predicted a quick turnaround for his team. Last season was pretty good - a seventh place finish and a second round exit. However, the team has much improved now. The Montreal Canadiens earned the most points in the 2014-15 NHL season: 123 points. Their record was 59-18-5 and the closest team behind them was the LA Kings with 114 points. The Habs had the best GFPG and GAPG in the league, along with the 4th-best powerplay and the 6th-best penalty kill. I would tell you the Habs' three stars for the season, but I can't narrow it down to just three guys. Alex Galchenyuk, PK Subban, Yannick Weber, Phil Kessel, Carey Price, and Tomas Plekanec are all candidates. Roope Talaja was also extremely impressive on the Habs' third line. Here are the Habs individual stats:

Haha yeah, it was a pretty sick year. Yannick Weber has so far been the biggest surprise of this GM mode - I never expected him to play so well. I didn't include this in my post, but he actually led all NHL dmen in goals, points, and plus minus and will likely win the Norris. PK Subban will likely get second place.
I think EA planted a Patrick Roy clone in my Phoenix dynasty. I traded for a goalie (drafted by MTL !) named Reginald Ratchuk, who was 72 overall with 4.5 gold stars, 6'4 206 lbs at 20 years old. I gave him 70 AHL starts and he jumped up to an 89 overall with 5 gold stars. As a rookie he was dominant (simmed until playoffs):

GP 20 W 16 L 4 GA 40 GAA 1.80 SV% .941 SO 3
He won the Calder, Hart, Lindsay, Vezina and Conn Smythe trophies as a rookie, but then improved to 93 overall and smashed those numbers as a sophomore at just 22 years old, again all simmed:
GP 78 W 56 L 16 GA 113 GAA 1.41 SV% .948 SO 16
Just starting playoffs at the end of this season, I have Ratchuk locked up for 7 more seasons at $7.6MM, and I'm going to try and keep him for his whole career. 99s in shot recovery and stick high plus 97s in glove high and stick low make for some amazing second chance saves.
Yeah I'm really confused with player development too. I had B. Schenn and Burmistrov on my 3rd line en route to a Cup win and both of them posted 30 points with a 15-20+ plus/minus but neither made any progress. Right now I have Burmi tearing up the AHL and Schenn still in the NHL so I'll see whether if the whole AHL/NHL thing really makes a difference, but it's definitively frustrating that development doesn't make much sense.
What's Burmistrov's overall rating? I actually tried and simulated a season (we're several ppl playing that team with me as "GM", so we're usually playing every single NHL game), and Niederreiter made some progress.
From 69 to 74, with 21g and 32a and a +5 playing on the first line/pp in Providence. Which raised another question: How do i get rid of the players the AHL team signs? I just have no use for six 71+ Grinders/AHL lifers or a 74 Goalie, and i really dont want to check my AHL roster every second week just to make sure that my prospects arent scratched or placed on the fourth line like Nino (he barely makes the roster with his overall ratings, not to mention all the other prospects barely hitting 60 overall).
Could this be because i trade my "busts" (24+ old prospects with a bad overall) and now have only 41 players in the organisation? Will it change for the better if i stockpile players in the next offseason to reach the maximum?
On a sidenote, some of these AHL lifers are awesome. Craig Campbell was my best scorer (he's a 74 Grinder C) and led the league in PIMS with 387

After leading the AHL in assists, he only got up to 80 in the season after. Schenn had the same old ~30ish points and is now a 79.
For whatever reason, Scheifele, who was also in the AHL, posted worse stats than Burmi but was bumped to an 82; his growth was flat out better. Both of them have the same potential and player type, too.
Not sure how to get rid of the AHL grinders; they seem to stick around if they aren't signed by any other team. It's really annoying.

Just like last season, the Montreal Canadiens did not lose a single game in round one of the 2015 NHL playoffs. It was close in game one, but Canadiens captain Alex Galchenyuk broke the ice in overtime to put the Habs on top. The Winnipeg Jets seemed deflated after that loss. The Habs dominated them in games 2, 3, and 4, including a shutout in game three and a seven goal performance to drive the dagger into the Jets' hearts in game four.

Game 2: 3-1 Win
Game 3: 3-0 Win
Game 4: 7-3 Win
Les Habitants will face Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins in round two.
On February 27, 2021, Rauman Lukko GM Baarle dealt reigning back to back to back Hart and Vezina winning, 2 time Conn Smythe winner, 27 year old goalie John Gibson to Boston. In return, Lukko receives top prospect D-man Jay Ness, last year's first overall pick, and Boston's first rounder, likely to be top 3. Baarle is counting on the best goalie prospect in the game and current back up, 22 year old Ray Manders to lead Rauman to their fourth straight cup. They currently sit 2nd in the league table.
I did a fantasy draft for mine and drafted galchenyuk at like a low 60's overall. I sent him back down to the CHL for the year and after one season he shot up to a 84 overall! Huberdeau(Also playing in the CHL) also did something similair. I know they changed the ratings, so are 20 overall point jumps common now? Also, another thing I noticed was that top prospects such as Namestnikov who played in the AHL didn't progress very much

Well i'd be very happy if Nino turns into an 80 overall player atm
Just had a discussion with a co-worker during lunch, he loves to sim/armchair gm. According to him some players take more time to develop, he had several prospects that made quite big leaps at 23 or 24. As long as the trade value is high, they have the chance of a breakout year, according to him. I guess i should just sim 4-5 seasons just to see what happens, if it only wouldn't take ages on ps3..
That with AHL signings is brilliant tough, didnt think of that. First thing i'll do next offseason is sign all these guys blocking my prospects and trade them away.
