The article's title is "Senators forward Peter Regin returns after stint in Swiss league"... and I was fully expecting the follow-up to be about him somehow re-injuring his shoulder.

Color me impressed!

Regin’s play indicated he has fully recovered from the shoulder problems that have limited him to 65 games over the last two seasons.
After four games?

I believe Swiss leagues have a cap on the number of foreign players per team, similar to the CHL. He was filling a spot for a foreign guy who came back from injury. I think to characterize it as 'being cut' is misleading for the people who inevitably won't actually read the article. 5 points in 4 games, and not injured? I'm happy with that.

After 5 points (2+3) in 4 games it proberbly doesn't have anything to do with his performance in those games. Maybe it could be becuause of the limit on imported players, after all the player he replaced was their top scorer who was out with a concussion. He got over that quicker than expected. Of course they don't want to keep even Regin over their top scorer, when they know he wont stay all season.

Seeing your avatar makes me wish Regin would go back to wearing #43. Switching from 43 to 13 has been a curse for him.

The limit of 2 imported players in the LNB is indeed the reason of his short stint.

For those who wants some images of one of his games, here are the highlights of the game against Lausanne, where Regin (#13, blue team) had a goal and an assist. Precision, the opposite goalie is Huet.

Who is that player at the 58 second mark with the yellow helmet and half the backside of his jersey?

Definitely surprised this isn't injury related. Thought it was for sure when I opened the thread lol.

I think the world of Regin and was rather worried when I saw the thread.

Really happy for the guy, I think if he is able to play a full season in the NHL the Senators are far deadlier than people think

This. He gives us skill we never had on the third line last year. He can play defensive, but he gives us the skill needed to create offense..

Hope he can play in Bingo, I still haven't give up on him and think he could be a solid NHL player. A chunk of time in Bingo could be great for him.

Can't recall the details of his contract - anyone know if he can play in the A?

He's good enough to be on the second line while Zibanejad matures on the third line winger position I'd say.

He can't be assigned to Bingo without first being put on waivers, so no Bingo for Regin.

How can there be waivers if there's no CBA?

NHL contracts are pretty non-existent now, which is why players can sign in Europe. So Regin can sign an AHL deal. Right?

I'm not 100% sure but there is probably a rule/deal made between the AHL/NHL that players from the NHL can only play if they have a two way contract during a lockout.

Otherwise I'm sure you would see a bunch of young stars like Stamkos, Giroux, Kane be playing for their clubs farm.
