Part of this was Lehners fault.
1st star of the game is the other goalie.
He took Bingos best player out of the game.
Lehner fell for it. Should have stayed out of it.
Lehner got ejected for punching and slashing that other guy who was tied with another bingo player.
Fighting other goalie cost him 2+5.
Easy to blame Lawson here, but the coach has to take the brunt of it tonight. When it was 5-2, he should have told them to quite getting into fights and scrums and just worry about getting the next goal. There was a seriously concerning lack of leadership there tonight.
On the subject of Lawson though, its hard to imagine a worse puck handling goaltender in the professional ranks. Bingo couldn't break out of the zone once he got in and they got trapped chasing his wild rebounds all over the place. Really an incredible showing from him and in a very bad way.
Stone had a really good game. His skating looked pretty good tonight. He got around the ice with relative ease and was great defensively.
Bishop will play tomorrow, its an early game so probably didn't want to use him today.
Lawson should have been good enough for 1/2 a game. He played for NYI last year in a few games

But this isnt an isolated incident. This is a team being down 5-0 against a very good goalie and deciding "hey, we KNOW how easy it is to get this guy to snap....lets go make it happen". And it did.
I love goalie fights, just like anyone else. I have no issue with Lehner standing up for himself. My issue is this is becoming his MO. Tonight a team used it against him and had a pretty freaking legendary comeback as a result.
Lehner is the one who attacked a guy that was already occupied.
k? what nhl goalie wouldnt go up to the guy that just speared him and give him a mouthful? Lehner didn't skate over to the other goalie, which was the big debacle every one had last year.
Im having trouble following the posts so far because of alcohol, but I have to say one thing - Stone impressed me with his defensive game tonight. He didnt even play the pk in Brandon, yet hes showing me a new facet he has developed...defense. If he brings a solid defensive game with his smarts and hands, hes a lock to make the NHL in some capacity.

What Roy did there was borderline assault. The guys scum plain and simple. But you cannot tell me the other guy did the right thing there. You gotta stand up for yourself.
I'll take an over-confident, loose cannon of a goalie over that embarrassment any day.
Murray has had to meet with Lehner about his attitude in the past. Wamsley said TONIGHT that things like that will lose them the game and that he cant be doing that.
As do I. Read my posts. I think he can be a great goalie, but, like the Sens, asknowledge that this aspect of his game holds him back. God forbid I dont think he is the second coming of Jesus.
If wamsley is blaming lehner and not lawson, then he needs to be fired ASAP.
There is a goalie to blame and it's not the one with a 0.00 GAA...it's the one with the 10.00 GAA.
Wamsley is probably just blaming lehner to not embarrass lawson.
