Didn't see this any where, looks like he is having a good lockout break.

Ben Eager - Bar/Restaurant fight in Toronto

Just saw on sportsnet that our enforcer Ben Eager and his brother got into some fisticuffs at a Bar/Restaurant in Toronto.

I'm not sure why there isn't a link on their site but I saw it reported on tv.

That probably matches his fight total from all of last year with the Oilers

I will be very surprised if he's on the team for much longer.

Same here.

He's like Barker, only still signed.

That sure doesn't sound good. Apparently there are tapes, so hopefully that means an easy job for the police to figure out what happened.

But if it is as bad as the article suggests, I hope we waive him and are done with this guy. I'd rather have Petrell playing in his spot anyways.

My guess is Eager was drunk, the other guy was a Leaf fan who was being lippy and Eager didn't take it well

Will wait for the facts to come out before passing judgement.
I am guessing that what has been reported is just one version of what happened. Time will tell.

Remember when Jason Smith was charged with assault?

Everyone assumed he was guilty but the charges were later dropped.

Maybe we should try to convince him that Nuge is his long lost brother.

I'll await video tape evidence, because quite frankly based on his time as an Oiler I have serious doubts that Eager would fight.

These things never turn out to be as they were initially reported. That entire article is based one side of the story, so take it with a grain of salt.

Not that Eager doing something stupid would really surprise me all that much.

I don't know why everyone hates Eager. I think Krueger will have him on a longer leash. He can actually play the game and us very well liked in the locker room.

Eager is beyond useless and I've been saying that here from day one. Never wanted this player, never liked this player.

He's never been an enforcer. He fights and gets into it when he's pissed off and acting through selfish means not when anyteam needs him to play a particular role.

I think Sam Gagner probably had more fights and stitches last year.

Ben Eager makes a plate of meatballs look intelligent.

Not surprisingly we pay this useless pile of fecal matter in excess of 2M/ and afairc extended him on the basis of him being the most useless turd in the league.

This is the first scrap he's been in since he beat up the highdef camera in Vancouver..

Has anybody been to Rosedale? Think a much more exclusive version of Glenora with block after block of Stone mansions. Some of the best Real Estate and exclusive neighborhoods in Canada. Not exactly the place people go looking for a fight. This likely would've been a case of Eager being S h i t e drunk thinking somebody looked at him the wrong way. Where this pub is located is on Yonge, near Bloor, which would be as close to Wall Street as it gets in Canada. Think high powered investment jackets roaming around buying 25buck "pub" drinks. The only crime ever heard of being tax evasion or fraud.

Trouble generally doesn't go hunting in that particular area.

Eager could've been helpful holding up an idiot sign so people were more in the know.

With all due respect Jason Smith possesses grey matter. Was a respected captain on the team, and held his head up high on and off the ice for years. Jason Smith is a quintessential team player. Ben Eager has never even comprehended his role on a team.

You couldn't find a player more unlike Jason Smith. So yeah, Smith gets benefit of a doubt.

Eager?

This never would have happened if he was behind the podium with Donald Fehr.

If the guy(s) that he fought took runs at RNH first there'd be no problems.

That's one more fight than Stortini had tonight against the Marlies, a game that had six fights by the time I switched channels late in the third.
