Predict Our Future Bottom 6

We may not have too many high profile top 6 forward prospects but one thing we do have is a ****-load of bottom 6 prospects, pretty good ones too.

If you had to guess in 5 years our bottom 6 strictly based on what is in the organization now, barring any trades or signings, what would it look like, potential wise?

Some names to consider:
Nazem Kadri(probably the only prospect to have top 6 upside, but can fill a bottom 6 role if he doesnt reach his ceiling)
Matt Frattin(same as above)
Tyler Biggs
Brad Ross
Greg McKegg
Joe Colborne
Jamie Devane
Carter Ashton
Kenny Ryan
Connor Brown
Josh Leivo
David Broll
Nicolas Deschamps
Ryan Rupert

That is a pretty huge list, almost all those guys have a good shot to make it.

Out of that list choose a top 6, positionally wise on who you think will make it, who will be AHLers and even those who can even make the top 6.

Obviously there will be trades and signings but as of right now on the depth chart, what are your projections?

Ross-Colborne-Biggs would be a great third line
Komarov-Rupert-Broll as a brash fourth line

Lotsa wingers gonna make 3 lines and throw out lines irrespective of position..Devane and Broll are definitely our 4th line monster projects if one pans out great , kadri top 6 or traded
Biggs-Colborne - Frattin
Ross - Mckegg- Leivo
Devane/Broll - Ashton- Komarov

Lots of wingers to choose from. McClement would make a good 4th line C, but he lacks the offence to be a good 3rd line C IMO.

Frattin, Ashton, Ross, Biggs, D'Amigo, Kamorov, etc should fill out the wing.

But yea, no 3rd line C. McKegg and Colborne arent good enough defensively for that role. MAYBE Bozak.

B. Ross - J. Colborne - T. Biggs
J. DeVane - A. Crescenzi - J. D'Amigo
D. Broll

Big fan of that third line. Some personal favorites on the 4th line. I'm personally routing for Sam Carrick to make the league as a 4th line centre, so you can sub him in for Crescenzi if need be. Love the character of both.

Nikolai Kulemin - Tyler Bozak - Matt Frattin
Brad Ross - Joe Colborne - Tyler Biggs

I maybe a pessemist in thinking many of our bottom six prospects do not pan out. I'm not a believer in Colborne, I think he becomes new David Steckel. I think Bozak will grow into a third line shutdown player. Kulemin and Frattin on his wings will be dangerous for years to come - both big bodies, both can shut down and score. Ross and Biggs seem to be our brightest checking line prospects - put them together with New-Steckel and watch them create misery and piss off the opposing team.

Biggs, Broll and D'Amigo are bottom 6 future candidates, that fit definition of role players, checkers, grinders, energy and PKers.

Not sure I see an answer to an ideal 3C in our prospect pool.

Ross - Ryan/Rupert/xxx - Biggs
D'amigo - Rupert/Cresenzi - Devane

What I'd kind of like to see in 5 years.

NHL
D'Amigo(26) 5'11 208lbs / Colborne(27) 6'5 213lbs / Biggs(24) 6'3 224lbs
Devane(26)6'5 220lbs / McClement(34) 6'1 201lbs / Ashton(26) 6'3 205lbs

I think D'Amigo will eventually beat out Ross for that #3 LW because of his PK prowess and defensive play. I don't think he'll beat Devane for the #4 LW either. Devane could be our hybrid enforcer who can skate and play the game well for an NHL enforcer which I would rather have than an offensive energy pest like Ross.

In a couple years I think we'll be seeing a lot more size in our bottom 6 with lots of strength which is what we desperately need.

AHL
Leivo(24) 6'2 173lbs / McKegg(25) 6'0 191lbs / Ross(25) 6'0 175lbs
Broll(24) 6'2 216lbs

We have some smaller all heart skaters.
I want them as the bookends for our 3rd line.

D'Amigo - _____ - Frattin

The 4th line has to be tough and hard to play against.

Devane - _____ - Broll

Toss in some veteran bottom 6 centers and we can start to develop within

Top 9 is what really matters. Bottom 3 forwards have very little impact and aren't hard to find. Look at how little we gave up to get Brown or Steckel. Who was on the 4th line of LA or Boston?

Should all be NHLers with 2nd line upside.
Nazem Kadri: Traded if we have Kessel and Grabo still on the team in 2 years
Matt Frattin: Most likely a 3rd liner
Tyler Biggs: Same as Frattin
Joe Colborne: Hopefully adds a defensive element to his game. Think Brian Boyle. If he is our 2nd line center in the future we are in trouble

Upside is being a third liner but might only make it as spare parts guys
Brad Ross
Greg McKegg
Carter Ashton

Won't ever be anything more then 4th liners
Jamie Devane
Kenny Ryan
Connor Brown
Josh Leivo
David Broll

I'm sorry but did you even watch Boston play when they won the cup? Thornton, Paille and Campbell all played a role. They chip in when needed and make it tough for the opposing team. Hell look at New Jersey this year with Carter and Bernier leading the charge. 4th liners can do more if you get them the chance.
