Getting a 360, questions abound inside

So, I'm buying a 360 off my cousin and I have some questions about games the like...

How does recharging the controller work? Is it like PS3 where you plug it into a USB port or does it have AA batteries like the Wii?

I'm not buying Live, not going to be playing anything that multiplayer, so what are Silver members allowed to do?

Need some good suggestions of EXCLUSIVE games, PS3 will still by my primary console. Looking for opinions on Lost Odyssy, Blue Dragon, Infinite Undiscovery, Fable 2 and Fable 3. Already getting Tales of Vesperia, that's a given.

What about exclusive downloadable games? Always wanted to try Shadow Complex, anything else I should look into?

Any help would be awesome

Controller Has AA batteries

All I know about is free, and you can't really do much online in terms of apps, since they all require gold

Takes double A batteries, unless you spend 70 dollars to get the cable, controller and the charge pack. Or you can just buy the charge pack.

The good thing about the cable on the Xbox is that it's actually long and you don't have to sit beside your console for it to charge.

I think silver just allows you to the online store, but I'm not sure.

Lame about using batteries, guess I'll see if he had a charge thing or not.

Is there any disadvantage to having the PS3 and 360 standing vertical? Will it scratch the discs any?

Batteries last a long time IMO i cant remember the last time i changed the batteries in one of my controllers.

You want the 360 horizontal better stability and a buddy of mine scratched a disc when his was vertical and it got nudged and rocked a little.

Do you have any pets who can get to the xbox, or ps3 ? They could knock it over.

My systems are a good five and a half feet off the ground, they really can't get up there

Play & Charge Kit for the win, it doesn't cost much either.

As for Fable 2 and 3, both are sort of light RPG, have very distinct British humor, lots of it. The co-op works better on 3 though, 2 limited both characters to be on-screen. The ending's a bit too anticlimactic on both of them and combat's to easy due to the only penalty being your character "knocked down" instead of dying and not getting an achievement (completing the main story without getting knocked down). It's worth the ride though, the games are fairly cheap to come by these days. Maybe they'll be able to tap the full potential of the series on the next gen.

Looked on the back for it's date of manufacturing and it was late October 2008, I'm assuming it's the ones that got a Falcon or Gasper chip it in, right, to help with the RRoD? It also only has 13.6GB of memory, but I don't think I'll be downloading any full games or putting anything on the hard drive. Once I'm done with Xcom I'll be breaking into Vesperia

I really liked Lost Odyssey a LOT more than I thought I would.

It's the last JRPG I played through in full. I bought 4 more after and they are getting more and more boring but LO kepy my attention very well.

Charge kit will also allow you to use your controller on your computer. Seriously, all you do is plug it in.

The only video game I really play right now is Madden 08 on my PC, using a controller.

I could imagine you could get a 60GB or 120GB HDD for the older models (they're different on the Slim model) at a reasonable price these days, even used ones.

Since you seem to like RPG's, get The Witcher 2. Excellent RPG.

Even if you're not into cars; Get Forza. There's a new one coming out (Forza Horizon) soon. I'd get Forza 4 for now. It's Gran Turismo, but it's more casual and it has customizations that GT doesn't have.

Also, I'm not a fan of the series now, but the re-make of the original Halo is very good.

Gamestop had it for 2.50, had to get it at that price

We have rechargeable batteries for the kids Leappad thing, so I can just take two of those.

Was going to get The Witcher 2, will wait for the price to drop some more.

It's just recently dropped after being $59.99... I'd get it ASAP and beat it while the price is low then sell it back after it goes back up.

Profit!

AA out of the box, but you can easily find a rechargable pack + cable.

Or if you have a PC, you might want to look at a wired controller as it works with practically every PC game these days.

Can't join netflix, can't play online. Occasionally there will be some downloadable content or deals that Gold gets first.
