It's really frustrating to watch this team not sweep teams when they should. It's getting to be a tradition.

Bring on CC I guess. Sioux really mishandled(mod edit) the Penrose Cup (mod edit)last night. Truthfully though I'd rather see CC come to the Ralph than Miami although both teams will be in desperation mode as they know the only way to get into the NCAA tourney is by winning the NCHC tourney. Heading up for Fridays opening game and will be sitting next to the glass.

This team has no finish this year. Every time they come close to getting a sweep or anything else important they mess it up.

I'm not sure they will beat CC on Sunday night. It sure looked like they had nothing left on Saturday.

Nothing left? Heck I thought they dominated after the first period. They just can't fall behind 2-0 tonight or I think it's over. Get the lead and go from there. If they somehow lose the Target Center will be a ghost town this coming weekend.

Win the thing and be done with it but if not there is still a slight chance of getting in the tourney.

#13 UND makes the tournament in 42% of scenarios in which it wins 1 game and .5% of scenarios in which it has no wins (a tie in the consolation game seems to be required).

Because the NCHC has a consolation game, UND could exit the tournament with one win either by winning then losing, or by losing then winning. The two have slightly different outlooks.

If UND wins its first game, it makes the tournament in about 46% of scenarios in which it loses the championship game. Most useful to UND in this situation seems to be #12 Minnesota State, #16 Cornell, #15 Colgate, and #11 Michigan losing (note that #14 Vermont is not playing).

If UND loses its first game, it makes the tournament in about .5% of scenarios in which it ties the consolation game or about 36% of scenarios in which it wins the consolation game. Most useful to UND in this situation seems to be #17 New Hampshire, #21 Ohio State, #16 Cornell, and #15 Colgate losing (note again that #14 Vermont is not playing).

North Dakota is also helped by autobids going to highly ranked teams.

Sioux win 5-0 and now wait. Need UMass-Lowell to win and Wisconsin to win.

And the Sioux get in as the 14 seed. CHN has them playing Union in Bridgeport. Sioux playing with house money and really have nothing to lose. Thank you Wisconsin and UMass-Lowell.

Ironic isn't it. The team that helped them get in is the team they play. Crazy.

Well, well, well, look who's playing while the rivalry is still fresh? I think we owe some payback from 2008 Good luck in this classic WCH....former conference rivalry. Still not used to the realignement.

I will never get use to the realignment. Never. Should be a fun game tonight. I give the Sioux a 35% chance of winning. Badgers are playing well right now. Not sure which team will show up for the Sioux. Drop the dam puck.

Philly bound baby. Gothberg stole one. Did not see this coming from this team with the way they had been playing recently. Could it be 1997 all over again? We shall see.

Nice run by the Sioux, I had a bad feeling about the Badgers game and I'm not surprised they made it to the FF. Funny how other fans always have more faith in your team than you do, eh? They'll have their hands full with the winner of the BC/Lowell game. I think overall this will be Union's year but best of luck to the Green Giouxns (yeah I gotta make it a back-handed statement to keep the tradition up)

Team is full of grinders. Last nights goal scorers, Pattyn and Gaarder are both walk ons who put the grind in grinder. And having so many grinders this team has had troubles finishing in stretches. It was nice to see a goalie on our side steal one besides the other way around. They have been known to make goalies look good.

By the way they play the winner of Gophers/Huskies.

Man, those brackets on CHN always confuse me! Well, in that case my good luck wishes are no longer underhanded. I fully back ND to stifle the rodent menace!

ND would be the "cinderella" at this point, although I don't think you can really apply that term to a program with their pedigree and coaching.

Good luck in the Frozen Four! This Miami fan is rooting for you guys to win it all!

Especially since the other three teams are from the Big Six, Hockey East and the EZAC.

Now that hurt. Dang. But what a gutsy effort by the Sioux. They played the game they wanted to. Wilcox was just one save better. Another classic between the 2 teams.

Ah man, I was hoping beyond hope for a ND win. What a great run for what was an unheralded team. Hak got more from them than anyone expected.

And go Union!
