I just un-followed about 10 different players. Players that even re-tweet the other BS that other players are tweeting are getting un-followed.

But yeah, I may not have optimism, but I am also not pessimistic.

This was a good starting point.

Yes. A starting point.

If this would have been the PA's proposal three months ago...

I'm really annoyed at Fehr's statement that @reporterchris tweeted. Players say they need guarantees because of "how much they're conceding." If the guarantees kick in, they didn't concede anything.

Hell, even if we hive them the benefit of the doubt and say their stall tactics won concessions. Why didn't they propose this 4 weeks ago? Beyond that even, why didn't they propose this on Monday?

I think hybrid works best for that as well but I dunno that they would go that route. I like percentage over straight dollar amount though. Would have to be closer to 15% though.

Hamrlik pretty much sums up what Jamie McBain was saying...

So what's with the BS spreading about Leipold regretting the Suter/Parise signings? Glad to see Russo on top of it, but like he said, he's not buying it. So what....Bissonnette said that Leipold admitted the mistake and got caught up in the moment. He didn't get caught up in the moment! Not when he and Fletcher discussed making that move a year ago. This wasn't a deal that just fell into their laps. It was the opposite of getting caught up in the moment. I call BS on Bissonnette.

Russo

i know for a fact that up until the lockout he was as giddy as a schoolgirl over the thought of them playing. regret? he probably regrets the system in place forced him to commit that much in guaranteed money, but he'd have done it again. He isn't going down as one of those owners who didn't do everything to get the best team he could get.

NHL cancels all games through December 14th and All-Star Weekend. In other words, the NHL Guardians have a new foe to battle.

When Fehr used to run the MLBPA did he ever have the deal with so many idiots going public and making it impossible to have a respectful player cause?

there were issues i sided with the players on, but with each passing day its clear they would be better off signing a deal and shutting the hell up.

Bit of a difference in a player's ability to go public when comparing 1994 to 2012.

Getting Bettman hired in the first place is all part of David Sterns plan to run hockey into the ground so pro sports fans literally have nothing to watch but basketblah during the winder months after the NFL season and playoffs end, and before baseball begins.

As much as we all like to **** on Bettman (and he deserves a lot of it), one thing the league has done well in his tenure is expand the profile of the NHL.

NHL and NHLPA have agreed to allow U.S. federal mediators to get involved in the labor dispute.

Mediation is not binding. It's just an objective third party trying to help process get on track. Mediators were, IIRC, used in 2004-05.
So the league and NHLPA have agreed to some non-binding mediation. It's always hard to know how this will likely turn out, but considering the NFL and NBA deals this past year and a half, I'd suspect they might be opening a few more players' eyes.

It's just mediation, but there's already discontent within the PA, and the hardliners have been very slowly backing away.
