They will answer it by saying he has an "upper body" injury.

I still believe in Gaunce, him and Barrie were the Monsters last year and he's managed to be solid so far this year despite the tighter refing. He'll get better as the season wears on and the refs loosen up, and once he finds that new balance between physical and penalty box, he'll be a force again. He's a tough kid, but a smart one which is why I'm not too concerned. I'm very excited to see how he progresses because I still think that down the road he could make for one hell of a partner for EJ if we don't bring anyone in. Unlike guys like SOB that EJ's gotta always worry about covering for, Gaunce is physical and smart. Add that to his good passing and EJ would be freed up to spark our offense, and they'd be just beastly in our own end.

I'm a firm believer that Siemens will earn that role down the road. But good to see we both agree EJ could use a more defensive oriented partner to let him loosen up offensively.

Duncan certainly could become that guy, but I think Gaunce will get the first crack at that job and will do well enough that if Siemens gets that far as well, they'll end up leaving him with Barrie/Elliott on the second pairing.

As for EJ, he can play well with anyone reliable, but I just love the spark he gives our team when he burst forward, he's a great defensive guy but it's when he rushes the puck up ice with intent, that he becomes special.

I will watch it if there is a stream, but I don't plan on listening to it.

if we could get a very good defensive d partner for EJ (say like McDonaugh[pipe dream, I know]), I'd be quite happy with

X-EJ
Siemans-Elliot
Gaunce-Barrie

going forward.

Seems Canuck fans don't like watching the Flames prospects play.

Also Elliott is playing.

I don't want to be negative, but does anyone else feel Bärtschi has future Avs killer written all over him?

I like the confidence Barrie plays with. He'll lose it soon enough after being paired with hold-the-fort-while-I-do-my-thing O'Brien, of course.
