Who cares Shoenmaker>>>>>>Lorentz, who really cares that hes a year younger, and Murphy I think he has potential but is nothing spectacular at all and IMO not a huge upgrade, only thing warren did was get smaller and moved one guy that played with heart and emotion something that a lot of players on this team don't do, does this help our needs? Not one bit that's for sure... I hope this is a build up to a big trade that actually does something to this team, or this is really just a slap in the face from WR, I mean who cares about Lorentz 19 goals last year, Shoe had 50 points and this year shoe had 9 goals and 4 assist AND He has grit, Lorentz is one small, two has only 5 goals and 6 assist and three ident tough, so IMO we lost this trade because it doesn't help are needs Murphy is going to get Devlin spot as a 6/7 defenseman and he only has 4 points and lets add very small, and we lose fire power and now were less tough in a very strong west so good good Warren give yourself a pat on the back.

Tell us how u really feel lol
Actually Schoenmakers only has 2 more pts then Lorentz, the same number of even strength goals as Lorentz,in fact Lorentz has more 5 on 5 pts then Shoe, while Murphy has huge upside, pts are not the only u should look at other things,ie grit, shot, skating ability,he was outstanding at the -17 last Xmas
I am in the opposite corner good deal for the future
so this opens he door for an O/A, wonder who rychel has eyes on? Also rychel will now sell a few more tickets with Murphy being a local kid...ALSO does this open up a gld education package?...maybe for a future deal, or some1 reporting??????
I'm a bit sad to lose the Shoe, he was a good role player for us and cost a couple picks to acquire but I'm pretty happy with the return. While Murphy is struggling now, he played very well as a rookie defenseman in the league scoring 20 points. I also love that he's a hometown kid, it's good to have that. He should be able to turn things around with us. People are blaming the centers for the lack of offense but we should know as well as any ohl fans how much offense can be created by the defence. One slickster back there can make a world of difference, or at least have as much impact as another center might. If Murphy turns it around and can get his mojo back the price of a gritty overager with a bit of snarl is more than worth it. A legit puckmover on the blue line usually costs a lot more, if Murphy can be that for us. I'm also somewhat happy and surprised that Bateman was not the piece of the puzzle going the other way. Even though he has been poo, he's young and we've invested enough already that it's worth giving him plenty of opportunity to improve. If not, he's got to be worth more than Devlin gold package be damned. I am sooooo happy to see his ass on its way out of town. A goat will always find a way to make mistakes at bad times, it's in the DNA of that type of player. Thanks Peterborough, keep the phones open if Koko doesn't show after the WJC and we'll take Quine off your hands too, because we're nice like that.

I'd agree with you, I like this deal for the future. But before we judge the deal we should really see how the players play on their new teams before determining a winner.
Interesting statistical comparison between Schoenmakers and Lorentz, goal wise, last yr Schoenmakers had 17 goals even strength and 9ppg,while Lorentz had 16 even strength and 3 ppg goals
In the playoff s Schoenmakers had 1 goal and 0 assists in 4 games, while Lorentz in his 1st 4 playoff games had 2 goals and 1 assist
It seems to me that Lorentz may be a more consistent player, the fact he may be able to play another year is a bonus
I kind of like the move. I certainly didn't like what Rychel paid for Schoenmakers and Devlin but you need to move on. I think with Schoenmakers is that production doesn't always matter, as an OA and veteran on the team you need to make an example for the younger kids to follow and that didn't always happen, we have already asked where the leadership on this team was. Murphy should help and a change of scenery should help but it might take time for him to adjust. Lorentz adds depth up the middle which is nice and a possible OA year next year. Don't stop now Warren, there are many other passengers on this team.
