Clark, hands down. I don't think I have ever been more excited then when I was a little leafs fan watching my favorite leaf ever hit the ice. Wendel was everything a toronto maple leaf should be, tough, skilled, he had the best wrist shot in hockey history, and I think I saw someone say he couldn't stick handle, and that couldn't be further from the truth, if you guys remember the london england move you'll know what I'm talking about. He's my all time favorite leaf, then Dougy, then Gary, and Stumper.

I would take Wendel over Rick, both talanted tough guys, but I can't believe someone had to ask "who is Tocket"

I've got to go with Tocchet only because he's from my hometown.

Nope....I loved watching Clark play but other than a great shot and the ability to knock pretty much anyone out, he wasn't much of a player.

I'm guessing that the "who is Tocket?" comment was more directed at the spelling used... Tocket instead of Tocchet... I'm pretty sure anyone here who knows anything about hockey at all knows who Rick Tocchet is... and they'd also know that Wendel was a much better player... Tocchet was good, but Wendel was God.....

Knowing Skittles, he probably was serious asking it...or he was being funny and criticizing the spelling of the most infamous speller on HF

That makes you sound vindictive or spiteful.
Even leaf-haters and flyer-lovers would see your opinion as being way off.

Anyways for sure Tocchet. Numbers speak for themselves. Especially the Stanley cup playing along side Mario and company.

One thing I should say about Wendel is that only Leaf fans would love him. Anywhere else he went he wouldn't have been as big as we make him. We blew him up bigger than he really was. I really like Clark but he lacked the longevity that this game demands.

On a side note, the fight between Clark and Tocchet will go down as one of the best in history.

Clark lays out Mark Howe, Gordie's son, the Flyers star defenceman. Tocchet sees this and makes a B-Line towards Clark. The gloves are off and the punches are just flying. They were punching so hard and fast it looked like the whole place was just rocking. From the hyped fans to the glass they were throwing each other on to the commentators, the place was abuzz. Pound for pound, punch for punch, neither of them was backing down.
Flyers fans will say Tocchet won, but we Leaf fans know Clark won.
Actually it was a hard one to call, honestly I would call it a draw(but give the edge to Clark)

I'm not sure what your definition of vindictive and spiteful is but it has nothing to do with my comment. Twice the player may be an exagerration but IMO Tocchet was certainly the better player.

I always figured that sport's players names were the easiest thing in the world to spell. After all, every single hockey card, every single game recap or scoring race, or stats page you look at has their name written on it. Shouldnt be that difficult. I mean they even have their names printed right on their own backs for pete's sake.

Then you never saw Clark play, at least not a healthy Clark.

And part of the reason Tocchet was much better than Clark was his health.

Clark could be awesome for one game and then miss 40 games because of his back. And that was when he was 23.

As he got older he played more, go figure

Health is the only reason why Tocchet was better than Clark. My arguement that Clark was a better player only holds water so long as both of the players are completely healthy.

You think Tocchet was healthy?

He had plenty of injury problems too.
