Hanzal means way too much to Phoenix. This won't go over well.

Exactly.

Value-wise, not bad. But PHX is not in a position to trade unless they are shipping defenders out for forwards.

Who says Kadri ever puts up more points in a season then Hanzal already has?

Way too much risk for Phoenix to consider this imo.

will take more than that to get Hanzal. Pheonix has no reason to do this.

So a team with one of the worst centre depths in the league will trade their elite #3 shutdown man, for a prospect who can't make a lottery team and a player coming off an concussion?

No.

Phoenix's record in games without Hanzal last season:

3 Wins, 6 Losses, 2 OT losses, 2 SO losses.

Lombardi may be available on waivers/ Burke may need to bribe a team to get that contract off the books.

I like Kadri as a prospect but Hanzel is a key contributes for Dave Tippet's defending Pacific Division Champions.

This isn't the type of deal Phoenix would consider even if Toronto sweetened the offer.

Hero - If you could explain to Phoenix how such a deal could actually make sense, then you should be leading one side of the CBA negotiations.

IMO that's the worst proposal of the year.

Phoenix gives up their best center who's an incredibly rugged elite-shutdown guy with some offensive upside and in return they get a prospect who's been dissected my HFboards and the media AND a cap dump of a player who won't even come close to filling Hanzal's shoes.

Phoenix haven't been able to get Wolski, Mueller and Turris to work out. I suspect Kadri might join that list should he go there. Just seems like a poor fit.

Hanzal on the other hand is a player Phoenix leans on and he hasn't disappointed yet.

And where exactly does Phoenix get this "offencive help"?

By being patient and seeing what comes available. They have defensive depth to trade for top 6 offensive help. Remember, defense and goal tending wins in the playoffs, and Phoenix is top 5 in that department.

I am not exaggerating when I say that this is literally the worst proposal I've ever seen on hfboards involving the the Phoenix Coyotes. I've been a member for eight and a half years, and while I've seen plenty of worse proposals, never one as bad as this that actually involves my team.

Hanzal has to be one of the most overlooked, underrated players in the league.

Part of their stellar defense and goaltending is having an elite shutdown center like Hanzal. Take him away and their ability to defend and win in the playoffs really takes a major step backwards.

I want to get in before this thread is locked and 100% agree with rt here.

I've seen worse proposals, but it's possibly the worst Coyotes proposal I've seen since... maybe they were still called the Jets? It's probably that long. I'm sure I was still in my teenage years.

Worst proposal for that franchise since the infamous Teppo Numinen-for-Kelly Fairchild offer back in the days of BBS boards in the 90's? Possibly.

You guys can have this Hansel..... But I think Toronto needs to add

On topic: I wouldn't give up Hanzal for almost anyone right now. Super talented, offensive upside and is a perfect fit for the tippet system. On top of that he is a center, which we are sorely needing right now. We could pick up lombardi for table scraps.

Do I personally want lombardi? Yes I do. But is he, and Kadri worth Hanzal? It's not even close

As a Toronto fan, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

That being said, Phoenix doesn't touch this. Hanzal is very underrated and is incredibly important.

I'd also like to point out how much I love how every Hanzal thread turns into a Zoolander thread. So. Good.
