These 3 seem to be on a collision course for the number 1 pick in the 2013 NHL draft and the 19 year old pro-players notwithstanding, it seems as though these 3 will be the stars of the show in Ufa this Christmas, any other names from other teams that could perhaps steal some of the glitz and glamour from these 3?

Perhaps Monahan could overtake Barkov with a great tourney. He will likely be used in a two-way capacity, but depending on circumstances he could move his way into the top six and put up some numbers.
Aside from him, not really anyone else worth mentioning ATM. I do not think Drouin will make the team.

I'd like to see Drouin make the team... If it were me picking the team he'd be on it. I don't buy in to HC's argument that this is a tournament for 19 year old players with a few exceptions to the rule. I'd be much more open minded and would not have any concerns about Drouin being ready to compete.

I agree. Actually, I can only hope that the people who pick the roster for Team Canada pick the players whom they deem to be the best at the training camp regardless of their age.
I think Monahan and Drouin can up their draft placements with a good WJC.

Exhibit A as to how hockey doesn't matter on ESPN:
Last night an ESPN program was discussing how the Detroit Pistons needed a hero citing the heroes on the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and no mention of the Detroit Red Wings. All this despite the Red Wings probably being the most succesful team in Detroit right now.

I'd say it's a perfectly healthy approach to have reasonable expectations for U18 players in the WJC, or let them wait one year. Even for the very best. With very few exceptions the top scorers are U19 or U20 players. And if you're looking for checking liners, the older the better is a general rule of thumb.
U18 players top20 in tournament scoring lately:
11/12 only Collberg.
10/11 only Frk.
09/10 only Niederreiter.
In the last lockout tournament only Crosby(was 7th & 4th on Canada) and Kessel were top20 in tournament scoring.

I completely agree with your position on all counts. This tourney should be open to the best, regardless of age. Hockey Canada.......well, they haven't always thought that way.

It's also a lot to do with how mature a players game is... Drouin fits that, and doesn't play like his age indicates. This gives him a better chance.
