THIS Channel is the local Channel the Pirates have had for several years, that is a local access.....

this isn't like TWC Sportsnet that comes out of LA

http://www.twctv.net

this Network is only offered in Maine (hence its call sign TWC 9), AND Northern New Hampshire(Berlin/Littleton***22/21

what they do is show the game live off what you'd typically would see off AHL Live w/ the radiocast... it'll be repeated at least once.

Anyone know what's up with Martinook? Seems like he's been stuck on 19 games forever. He injured? If not, couldn't they send him down to Gwinnett or do they still have plans for him up in the A?

Lockout seems to be over. Good for OEL to be playing with the bug guys again. Summers, Rundblad (who is +/- 0 on the season! Haha) and Stone should all get a shot as well. Gormley needs some more time in Portland before taking the step.

Unfortunately I think the condensed camp is going to favor the incumbents heavily. I don't think this is the year Gormley or Rundblad gets the call. Stone is in all likelihood the first call-up. Every game is going to matter and Tippett is going to need guys who know the system.

Probably true. I wonder how they rank schlemko comparing to the players that actually have been playing this year, Stone, summers. Rundbl, gormley etc

Stone is ready. I like the idea of Rundblad getting 25 mins per night for rest of the AHL season. Summers will likely be dealt for a forward.

Is the OEL injury serious? If he misses any games I'm going to be pretty upset.

summers will probably be parked in Portland for the time being - anybody know what happens to the trade deadline for this season?

I can't imagine Summers clearing waivers. And he has to clear to be sent down from training camp, right? He's no longer waiver exempt under the old system.

According to Capgeek's calculator he's still waiver exempt.

Can't find the exact tweet but I remember seeing the trade deadline is going to be moved to early April.

He is no longer waiver exempt, IMO he will be on the roster and the 'Yotes will carry 23 (just a guess on my part). Wouldn't surprise me if they carry 8 d'men for most of the season, unless if they trade 1 for a forward. If they carry 8, they may rotate the 8th with Portland giving the prospects some time with the Coyotes.

He's actually been good in the games that I've watched. Defensive game has improved considerably and Portland is currently 3rd in the conference.

He the worst Dman on the team in his own zone, he gives nonstop odd man rushes and turns the puck over almost every shift.

Dave tippett would not let him anywhere near the ice.

He can shoot the puck but thats it.

He be a good player if he could only play on the PP and sit the rest of the game

His stats are very misleading. ( season ticket holder, and watch every game on ahllive)

as do I. He's remarkably better than last season in his own zone. He's another year away from auditioning for a NHL spot.

There was an interview with Rundblad on the radio before the last game and they were talking to him about how he's been getting more PK time lately so I'd think his defense has to have improved at least a little.

Visentin named AHL player of the week

Quote:
On Wednesday night vs. Providence, Visentin stopped 48 shots – including all 34 he faced over the final two periods – in a 2-1 win over the Bruins. The 48 saves were the most by a Pirates goaltender in a single game since Maxime Ouellet’s 49-save effort vs. Saint John on Jan. 12, 2003.

Then on Saturday, Visentin turned aside 39 of 40 shots in a 2-1 win over Bridgeport, extending his personal winning streak to five games.
