Edwards is going nowhere, XX, the only way you see Edwards gone, is if Ice Arizona cans Don Maloney in Glendale.

Oh, this nonsense again? You know Maloney has fired his own AHL hire (Ireland) before, right?

Brown couldn't have been a healthy scratch. Second on the team in scoring, best +/-. Must be injury or some other kind of matter that made him unavailable. Makes no sense.

Found the following tweet from last night while looking for any news on why Brown has been scratched.

Quote:
Edwards called his timeout because the Pirates were arguing on the bench. A couple guys had to be separated. Obvious issues there
Anything more to this that any of you folks in Portland know of or just guys getting frustrated during a blow out last night?

That's not normal, even in a blowout. Major change is needed. Cannot have guys down there in that toxic environment.

Just once I'd like to see us have a prospering farm team. I'd trade people to fix the farm. It's just as important long-term as fixing our bottom six or adding a scoring winger is short term. And a hell of a lot easier.

Wow, that is not good news at all. Even during a blowout they should remain a team. Some change needs to happen to fix this.

Brown has been scratched twice.

Brule has 2 assists so far. Pirates 3-1 start of the 3rd. Happy to see they decided to play.

Meanwhile Chris Brown...

Sound like Brown is scratched due to attitude problems. He can't be scratched based on production.

kinda makes sense, and maybe a directive from Phoenix a bit since most reports are filed w/ the closeness of the affiliation /relationship demostrated.... Did Edwards bench Brown because of the incident in Worcester, or was he directed to bench him again last night by GM Treliving, knowing the Pirates face Providence 3 x in 5 days beginning this afternoon. if Brown had pulled that in Phoenix, would Tippett have benched him?

Randy Jones is a -9 in 13 games for Portland. And he's suppose to be the stabilizing veteran presence down there, no?

Out of curiosity, what have the most common defensive pairings been for Portland this season?

Remember, Jones, Kaibur, is like Brule and Klesla, who were added recently or had their contracts changed via waivers.

remember Melindy hasn't played much, if at all, due to injury.

Isn't that the truth. If DM has one negative, it would be the way he has handled the farm team. I don't think the farm team has developed one player in the last decade. They seem to always miss the playoffs or just squeak in and then exit the first round.

Treliving runs the farm team. Has for years.

God I hope that's not the way Maloney manages. That undermines the job he entrusted to Treliving. If Maloney is truly unhappy then he asks Treliving to make changes or become the change.

Isn't Treliving interviewing for a GM job? Is it Buffalo?

I remember at the beginning of the year thinking that it was an awfully inexperienced defense. Brodeur and Gormley were the only two with any real AHL experience. And Visentin and Lee are both still new the pros. It was going to be shaky, even when they did bring in some veteran reinforcements.

That's what I meant, sorry it didn't come across that way.
