Rotated scratches?? What kind of beer league operation is being run down there haha
This was because of the lockout when they had an abundance of Dmen. Also, it's not like OEL needed the conditioning in the AHL, so even though he may have been the best player, it didn't make sense in a development stand point to play him every night.

Lessio scratched again. I assume he is injured, but would love some confirmation on this.

I only caught part of the third and OT. The Pirates were outshot, but pulled out a nice shootout win on a sweet little goal by Miele.

They put Gormley and Todd on the shootout crew.

If Lee is healthy, why not send him down so he can actually play?

Wrote a bit about Domingue here:

http://mayorsmanor.com/2014/01/ahl-p...-king-jerseys/

Small, I know, but my focus is on the Monarchs so that's what I have to write more about.

That makes a lot more sense then.

Gormley will eventually make it up with the Yotes but they would like to see him develop more playing major minutes in the AHL vs. less minutes in the NHL.

Hey CHRDANHUTCH
Can you give us a little snippet of how Lessio and Gormley have looked?

I know Lessio has been hurt or healthy scratch the last couple games, but before then he was a ppg tear that was pretty good and something the Coyotes haven't seen from rookies in the AHL

I see that the Pirates PK unit is equally as good as the Coyotes PK unit

Always nice to give up 4 PP goals in a game

Btw, any observations of which goalie has played better (Vis vs. Dom) would be appreciated. After watching several of the rookie camps and such, I always thought that Vis was the more technical goalie, but Dom was just so athletic and had a higher ceiling in my humble opinion.

7-4 St. John's F 5th PPG allowed FORMER Maine D Will O'Neill adds 6th goal after Albert's 6th on the PP, Samson's 2nd-16th;

cannot comment on either or all 3 of the goalies, Visentin/Domingue or Lee

I feel like Visentin is a little more of an aggressive goalie. He also is drawing the more difficult competition, since he's technically Portland's starter.

You can't let that many PP goals and expect to win.

Some nice plays to get back in the game, but then they just gave it away. This is a young team, so there's hope that they can mature and become more disciplined and positionally sound. But they've got a lot of work to do.

I think Lessio deserves the next call up. Nice goal from a sharp angle on the PP. Although he sort of flubbed his breakaway chance.

Cowick's 9th in the 2nd, makes it 4-1 Senators, & sets off a mini-brawl, forcing Edwards to pull Domingue for Visentin.

The Pirates are not a good team at all... tonights game was a joke.

For the 1000th time how edwards has a job blows my mind, he cannot control or coach his team.

Tonight was fun to watch for the side show but the hockey was horrible.

pens from tonight
