Though I want to believe this, I wont until I hear Bettman and Wang say it themselves.
Whereas Marty Markowitz will show up at a press conference for a free knish, Mayor King Bloomy does not show up unless it is important. This doesn't settle whether it is temporary, but it is *at least* temporary.
1. If it is about the Isles moving to Brooklyn, I don't know how excited I will be because I have not seen a hockey game at Barclays and I don't know how the site lines will be. Also, can/will the Isles break their lease?
2. Is it possible that Ratner is purchasing the team? If so this also worries me because then they would be stuck in Brooklyn most likely. But hey at least Wang wouldn't be running the show.
3. I have no idea what else it could be besides the first two options which both rely on the Isles moving to Brooklyn. I have a friend who works at Barclays and he is there today. I will post any update if I hear something from him.
Also, does anyone know if the Isles will be streaming the press conference?
AWESOME!!!! I'm not sure what I will enjoy more....knowing the Isles will be in NY area in a state of the art arena or watching the excuses from Murray and co.
I want to wait until the event actually happens but after seeing the channel 7 tweet I'm having a hard time controlling myself. I'm seriously so happy I'm about to cry.

The sight lines will be fine. Saw a concert there in the nosebleeds and you're so on top of the action on the floor as the building was built straight up. They did an incredible job.
Gotta figure if NYI moves permanent, the end zone will be renovated too.
I might be in the minority here, but I wouldn't be bothered by a name change to Brooklyn Isles. As long as they keep the 'Islanders' and 'NY' and the colors...and add an awesome looking Brooklyn shoulder patch...frankly, I wouldn't care if you called them the Flatbush Isles (ok, I would )
