Any change not including bringing back Yashin or fisherman logo is a good change for Isles.

I'd say I'm thrilled in many respects, but I'm also selfishly worried about how to get there from Northern Westchester County.
I don't think weeknight games will be an option anymore.

I knew there was a Flatbush LIRR station, didn't realize it was literally right there.

Very glad that you guys are keeping your team local..... for my sake. Sick of having to explain to people that the Isles weren't a relocation risk whenever the topic invariably came up on the main boards.

Not a chance. NHL Network sucks. They have their programming slots filled and that's it. I have never seen them show programming on a whim. It's all pre-programmed stuff. In fact whenever the lockout ends, you can be assured NHL Network will be showing episodes of Oil Change or Classic Series instead of end-of-lockout coverage. MLB Network is completely different and gets it right. My advice is to check news 12 at 1:00. Stay far away from NHL Network. They will give you nothing.

Its all about the LIRR guys...and if the Isles were smart (and i think we all know the answr on that one), they would work a deal with LIRR for their season ticket holders....

i would think they can add trains as needed on game days..

READY!!! CONSUME BEER NOW!!!!!!

The logo needs to add Brooklyn and Queens. The ones on Yahoo with the "B" were missing them too. Hopefully, we can also delete Nassau.

LI'ers whining on XM that Brooklyn will be hard to commute to and the time, too much cost, and too hard to bring the kids. Hello? You can't build a franchise on kids meals. LI'ers, you had your gravy of a burbanite PROFESSIONAL franchise, your elected politicians failed you. Time to move on and step up to reality.

This move is about corporatizing the Isles folks. It's the ONLY way the can be supported with less seats.

I would guess Metro North to Grand Central and then 4 or 5 train down to Brooklyn. Unfortunately, it does sound like weekdays won't be much of an option anymore for you. This is the tough part about the move. Folks who relied on their cars to get to games are going to have a much tougher commute.

Getting to the Barclays will be a breeze on the LIRR and I am sure the Islanders and the MTA will work out a ticket package.

The only downside to the LIRR is that there will be no more "Lets go Islanders" on the horns leaving the parking lot.

Like everyone else, I'm incredibly excited! Can we finally see light at the end of the tunnel? I am smiling from ear to ear, even if we are just moving to Barclays as a tenant. I am hopefully Wang is selling majority stake to Ratner, but even if that's not the case. Glad to see the Nassau politicans get a big "FU".

I'd expect the name will stay the same. NY Islanders encompasses Brooklyn anyway, so no need to change it. I'm more worried they'd change the colors.

Why? The Lightning jerseys are blue and white. Los Angeles on the other hand...

People are usually slow to embrace change, but eventually they do. Those that don't can watch the Long Island Ducks.

im not ashamed to say im so overwhemed with emotion ritght now and the tears of joy have began to flow....

Everything we have been put through as fans, this has been a long long time coming

ps the isles logo with the Brooklyn Bridge behind it works for me, also keep the colors...

I hope Ratner doesnt make us change the colors because they are the same as the NETS rival Knicks...

I agree. Nothing wrong with creating a demand for tickets by having capacity be a little lower. Put a good team on the ice, make tix a little tough to come by, create a buzz about being at the game. This is a good thing.
