Especially since the latter has been more interested in participating in his buddy's Magical Myster Tour rather than joining a league to play every day in anticipation of the season starting.

I think Gus (whom is already in game shape) beats out Gervais and it isn't even close.

Gervais plays/played in Germany and at the Spengler Cup.

Surprised they took Slater over Johnston. I guess they needed a gritty two-way guy.

Yeah, he didn't look too good in the Spengler Cup, though, so I'm not sure that'll help.

Phantoms to stay put in Glens Falls next season, probably

http://poststar.com/news/local/owner...9bb2963f4.html

There is an out-clause if the city can find a "permanent resident" by April 1.

Noebels up for this game, excited to see him play with more talented teammates. Unfortunately Gus is still out.

Yeah I know but he just looks panicked. That's actually part of the reason he lost his stick

Nice shot block by Akeson there. At least he's learning to play in his own zone a bit

Pretty bad 1st period.

Couldn't generate anything on the 2 PP's.

Flyers brass are at the game (including Holmgren, Paddock, Laviolette).

Nobody has looked good doing anything. This was an alarming lack of effort.

That quite a pitiful performance right there.

Nobody had a good game. Abysmal. Better show up tomorrow night.

Schenn and Couturiers lack of consistent play in an inferior league is alarming. They should be tearing the ahl up regardless of how bad the team is. They're both around PPG but they've been awful individually too many times in a bad league. I don't care how many young nhlers are playing, it's a bad league.

I think Therien said it best...waiting to see if there's going to be an NHL season is a distraction. They're getting bored waiting, and they won't want to be hurt if it happens. It hurt Wellwood earlier in the year, but he's seemed to come around on it. Still not the effort you want to put in with Lavi and Holmgren around. These guys know they're not there for anything more than to pass the time and stay in game shape. Not good enough to excuse, but it exists.

That was one of the worst games I've ever seen. Had to turn it off. Couldn't even get the puck in the zone on a 5 on 3.
