Listening to a radio broadcast of the Knights game to hear how Stolarz does. 2-0 Knights in the first period.

Typical Knights game this year lol

Union college doing the that trick one timer thing that was posted on here a few months back.

3 guys at the point

1-2-3

2 passes to 1

1 passed through 2's legs to 3

3 hits the one timer

Damn. If Stolarz stayed at school, he could have been playing on NBS tonight at 10 :

Nebraska-Omaha at Denver 10 p.m

Dear lord. The radio broadcast stopped working for me when it was 3-0 Knights and comes back a few minutes later and the play-by-play guy says it's 5-0 Knights....and as I'm typing this, they score again it's now 6-0 Knights at the end of the first period.

It's hilarious how bad they are running over the league this year. They had a 24 game winning streak that was just snapped a few days ago.

They have 71 points in 42 games and the next closest team in the league is at 55 in 40 games.

3-1 union college!

Doesn't help that Ottawa was already really bad, then they just sold at the deadline on top of that.

Don't mistake how beast the Knights are. Now they've added a fairly talented goalie.

Also don't miss that Stolarz is going to get his stats padded for sure, but they will give him a good development. He's extremely raw, so a professional development will benefit him more than an amateur one in my opinion.

Then again, in most cases I feel a CHL development is better for hockey players than a collegiate one.

8-4 Knights after the second. Kinda expected for Stolarz's first game. After being up 6-0 I think London tried to sit back and not embarrass Ottawa and the 67's have started to take advantage.

Stolarz's OHL debut:

http://www.lfpress.com/2013/01/11/lo...weiser-gardens

Quote:
They erupted for six in the first and had big Ottawa starter Clint Windsor out of there after five in 15-and-a-half minutes.

He wasn’t the big goalie everyone came to see.

Anthony Stolarz, the 6-foot-6 Philadelphia Flyers draft pick, made 33 saves in his first OHL game wearing Kevin Bailie’s old pads and allowed five goals, four of them in the second period including two to top NHL prospect Sean Monahan.

The former University of Nebraska-Omaha goalie had a rather large margin of error. “It kind of got the pressure off a little bit,” the 18-year-old Jackson, N.J., native said.

“The 6-0 lead, you didn’t have to go down and be stiff as I usually am. You could react out there knowing the team put up six goals.”

He wore Bailie’s stuff after his new gear arrived earlier on Friday. “I’m planning on breaking it in next week,” he said.

It will be a busy seven days once again for the newcomer. “It was his first game,” Dylan Hunter said.

“He hadn’t played a lot this year. He was fine. We got a good look at him and now we can work on some things. I think it’s nerve-wracking coming in with the team that we have and how many fans we get. It’s not easy for a goalie coming in like that.

“He’s a good kid and he’s going to work for us.”

Pads must have felt weird since Stolarz is a few inches taller than Bailie

So I'm sure it's been said already but how bad are the Phantoms going to be without Couts, Schenn and likely Gustafsson, Wellwood and Rinaldo.

McGinn becomes leading scorer with 13pts.

Not even. McGinn got called up for camp. Akeson is the leading scorer and he's only played 19 games.

Well, everyone's saying how bad they're going to be without the NHL guys, but they're not the only team that's going to lose players. Plus, maybe now that different tactics not centering on Schenn and Couturier will be used, some players could perform better.

Akeson far and away the best player on the ice as of right now. 2nd best player is Syvret. The great Dane has been decent, but Manning is just flat out bad right now.
