NYI & Barclays Center To Make Major Announcement (mod edit: NYI to Brooklyn in 2015)
Let's all sent Kate Murray a nice thank you for our new crumbling parking lot. I mean, it won't be too hard to convince another team to move to Long Island, right? Considering how welcoming the Island is to business? Right? Guys?
On another point, could the SoundTigers move to the Coliseum to give Suffolk residents an easier way to see some hockey?
The is 100% false, Brooklyn is on Long Island... Please just worry about Canada, there is no doubt in my mind that they will still be called the NEW YORK ISLANDERS!!!
Does this intensify the rivalry with the Rangers or no change?
no change imo, the rivalry has always been crazy, the rivalry only gets better and more intense when both teams are good, the Rags are a SC contender and the Isles are getting more and more competitive.

Think about this:
1. Prokhorov/Ratner constantly troll Knicks/MSG with ads
2. Islanders #1 asset is huge TV rights deal owned by... You got it, MSG.
3. Nets deal is with YES (Yankees).
4. The two arenas are approx. 25 minute trip apart.
So, yeah, baby, it does.
Only prob is that MSG Network is could completely bury our games. I mean, seriously. I hope that they come up with a deal for YES to buy out rights to the Islanders.
The arena seats even less than the MTS Center in Winnipeg. Is this really a good thing?
It seats 2k more than the Nassau Coliseum. Not to mention that place is an absolute dump.
As far as Long island goes- it has 4 counties: Kings (Brooklyn), Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk. Kings and Queens are 2 of the 5 boroughs of New York City.
