Woohoo.

Sorry I didn't vote. Got caught up with school.

The Preds simply aren't a team that can keep up to us in the post season. We've beaten them before and will do it again. We've added a #1 defender to our already stocked defense (Streit), a powerplay whiz with elite defensive skills (Garrison), a top-line forward (Lupul), top-tier 3rd line C (Goc), powerforward (Stewart).

This is on top of a cup-calibre team already.

You know what to do.

Draft lottery

I will make every attempt to do the draft lottery tonight, but it will be done within 24 hours of the draft so there will be times to make trades, etc.

Currently, the percentages are like this. As you all know, teams only have the opportunity to move up 4 spots.

25.0%
18.8%
14.2%
10.7%
8.1%
6.2%
4.7%
3.6%
2.7%
2.1%
1.5%
1.1%
0.8%
0.5%

Just as an FYI, I'll be selecting them using a random number generator. Each 0.1% counts as a vote, I will assemble a list in Excel, and use a Random Number generator. Whoever is on that row will win the lottery.

We are shocked our roster could not make the playoffs. We felt that our team would be playing a home playoff game in the first round.

RYAN MALONE (4.500) - STEVEN STAMKOS (7.500) - MARTIN ST. LOUIS (5.625)
MATT DUCHENE (3.500) - VINCENT LECAVALIER (7.727) - TEDDY PURCELL (4.500)
BENOIT POULIOT (1.800) - BRANDON DUBINSKY (4.200) - BRETT CONNOLLY (1.633)
RAFFI TORRES (1.750) - NATE THOMPSON (0.900) - BJ CROMBEEN (1.000)
TOM PYATT (0.600)

MATT CARLE (5.500) – ERIC BREWER (3.875)
SERGEI GONCAR (5.500) - NIKITA NIKITIN (2.150)
SAMI SALO (3.750) - BRIAN LEE (1.000)
BRENDEN MIKKELSEN (0.550)

ANDERS LINDBACK (1.800)
DUSTIN TOKARSKI (0.550)

I would of had you fighting for 7th-8th (I forgot to vote).

That goaltending situation is SCARY, no reason why you needed to waive Garon, having a vet backup who can still spot-start is huge for a guy like Lindback.

Your defense without Hedman has no minute-munching all-around guys (Brewer is getting up there in age). No blueline should be one injury away from Mikkelson getting regular minutes in the playoff.

Forwards = great. But defense and goaltending go a long way.

I had you in the playoffs, however I can see why some people may not have. Your defense isn't exactly stellar (not that I'm in any position to comment on that ) and a Lindback, Tokarski goaltending tandem is a bit worrisome.

Edit: Beat me to it.

That surprises me as well...

Also surprised how trading Raffi Torres drops a team from WC Finalist to 11th

Though i've always said if you arent gonna win the Cup, a high draft pick is the next best thing

Well, they say progress is a slow going process. 30th, 30th, 29th and now 24th. Next season... playoffs.

The Edmonton Oilers are ready to talk trade. We want:
- a Top-6 center
- a first pairing or second pairing defenseman
- to move up in the draft from 7th OV

Regardless you have Bickel, Stralman and Sauer as well.

You can't just make players disappear so you can acquire star forwards.
