I'll get to all the RFA's tomorrow. I've been pretty busy with school and life, sorry if it is delaying anyone.

We are happy with our 1st round selection of Justin Bailey. He went to school with the one and only IR4, so therefore he's the best player available in this draft.

Carry on.

Anaheim pleased to announce they have resigned all their RFA's, notably Patrik Berglund and Tyler Kennedy

We're open to trade talks.... We'd like some cheap, young, GOOD, depth players... Willing to potentially trade one very good player for a few good young, cheap players.

I don't consider myself an expert, but I'll attempt to point out some talking points or good selections in the draft. Hoping to generate some interest and build the draft portion of these games early on. We had a GM game last season closer to the draft that was phenomenal. Had atleast 20 of the 30 GMs there and it was a pretty wild 1st/2nd round. Obviously it's months before the actual draft, but with no NHL season, time to give the juniors a lil love.

For the record, I only had 4 lists (including my own) sent in. Hopefully we see more next time, there's some real gems out there.

Round 1
1. Columbus: C - Nathan Mackinnon
- obvious pick is obvious. He's in a tier of his own. If Columbus could only win one draft lottery, they're pissing their pants happy they won the MacKinnon lottery.

2. NY Islanders: D - Seth Jones
3. Edmonton (from TOR): C - Sean Monahan
4. Montreal: C - Aleksander Barkov

- In my mind these three are very close and any of the three can be the 2nd name called come June. I love all three selections for these respective teams. I'm also happy NYI took Jones cause It'd have had a hard time passing him up. I still would have, cause Monahan's a stud.

5. Anaheim: C - Elias Lindholm
- Just making sure Anaheim fans... he's not the brother of Hampus. I like the pick.

8. Ottawa: LW - Hunter Shinkaruk
- Hunter didn't have a strong start to the WHL season. Teams have been keying on him and paying him alot of attention but he's adapted. It's going to be a dog fight between Lazar and Shinkaruk to be the 1st WHL forward drafted. People smarter than I compare his playing style and hockey IQ to Crosby and Skinner.

10. Calgary (from COL): C - Curtis Lazar
- I hate that Calgary drafted this Edmonton Oil King. Depending where Edmonton finishes, I think there is a very good chance Lazar gets taken by the Oilers. I would probably would have taken him at 7th OV, but I'm biased towards him.

11. Columbus (from WPG): D - Rasmus Ristolainen
- Surprised it took this long. Don't get a lot of news about him, but watch him this December at the WJC. He's got all the tools to be a top pairing defenseman.

12. Dallas: D - Robert Hagg
- I like the pick. Swedish defenseman always seem to get a bump in the draft. Explain Hampus Lindholm to me. Hagg joins Bystrom on the backend.

13. Buffalo: D - Ryan Pulock
- Buffalo's racking up the WHL defenders. Pulock joins Pysyk and McNabb. That's a good looking pipeline on the backend.

14. Columbus (from TB): D - Nikita Zadarov
- Hah. Columbus drafts a Russian in the 1st round eh? I thought it was humorous that it was Tampa's pick. They've had a recent run of Russian influence in the drafting.

16. New Jersey: D - Darnell Nurse
- I felt this was a match made in heaven. I have a hockey boner for Nurse. Some feel he's Chris Pronger-lite.

18. Carolina: C - Jacob de la Rose
- I think Carolina's got a real weak prospect pool and could use help everywhere. I think I would have went with a more dynamic boom/bust player. de la Rose seems a safe pick but with limited upside.

21. Calgary (from SJ): G - Zach Fucale
- Liked this pick. Calgary's relied on goaltending for so long. I'm not high on goaltenders in the 1st round, but when you have multiple picks in the 1st, mind as well gamble on the consensus #1 tender available.

22. Philadelphia: C - Frederik Gauthier
- Wonder how they felt about Fucale going 1 pick ahead of them...

24. Anaheim (from PIT): C - Ryan Kujawinski
- I'm still waiting for this kid to break out. A great skater for his size. He'll be an interesting pivot to keep an eye on.

27. Columbus (from NYR): LW - Anthony Duclair
- Liked this pick.

28. NY Islanders (from VAN): C - Valeri Nischukin
- Rated very low on the master list we used. Keep an eye out for this 6'4 Russian center during the Subway series.

Round 2
3. Toronto: D - Steve Santini
- Liked this pick. Santini's got size and a whole lot of offensive skill. I think he could creep into the 1st.

7. Edmonton: D - Madison Bowey
- Was ridiculously happy we could draft him here. He was the next name on the master list and I was looking to move up to grab him. Glad that worked out! He styles his game after Drew Doughty and he comes from the WHL defenseman factory known by name as the Kelowna Rockets.

9. Phoenix: LW - William Carrier
- I don't follow the QMJHL as much as the OHL and WHL, but Carrier is an interesting study. He's carrying his team, but for some reason I think it's a case of Carrier being more physically developed then his peers. Maybe he'll prove me wrong.

10. Colorado: C - Ryan Hartman
- Bull in china shop. Like the player... hate that Colorado has him.

11. Winnipeg: C - Morgan Klimchuk
- Good value pick here. Undersized but has skill.

15. Colorado (from NSH via MTL): RW - Nick Sorensen
- Coming off a season where he had a season ending injury. I think he could definitely be a 1st round sleeper but wouldn't be surprised to see him get drafted around this pick.

17. Vancouver (from FLA): D - Shea Theodore
- Great pick here. I would have taken him at 37th had Bowey not been available.

19. Toronto (from DET): D - Eric Roy
- Is being paired with Ryan Pulock helping or hurting his draft stock? Is he being "seen good" or is he not being seen at all with Pulock garnering all the attention.

21. Montreal (from SJ): D - Jordan Subban
Haha. Tearing it up offensively from the backend, but very undersized right now. Will get drafted higher then he should based on name.

25. Washington: RW - Pavel Buchnevich
- Russian eh?

27. Calgary (from NYR): C - Alex Forsberg
- So much talent but can't put it together.

Round 3
4. Montreal: G - Eric Comire
5. Anaheim: G - Spencer Martin

- Brock over at OHLprospects.blogspot.com really likes Martin. Some people think Comrie is better then Fucale... hmm. Montreal takes Comrie from the same WHL team they drafted Carey Price from.

9. Phoenix: LW - Anton Slepyshev
- Past over last year because of the Russian factor (Would he ever come over?) but he's got the skill.

---

After that the names get a little too murky and can't really comment on them.

Thanks for the run down on Shinkaruk, Soli. I can live with the pick, especially the things said in the last line

Woohoo. Shea Theodore. Big fan. Glad we landed him even though I forgot to send in a list.

We're looking for a re-tool in Vancouver. Not a re-build, just some fresh faces to give the team a kick for the upcoming season.

Ryan Kesler remains on the block.

Attempting to re-sign: Mark Streit and Joffrey Lupul
Their rights will go up on the market ASAP if I can't get a deal done.

We've received two offers for the Sedin twins. . Keep dreaming. Unless we receive a package so overpaid that we can't say no, they're not going anywhere.

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Lupul-Kesler-Stewart
Higgins-Goc-Hansen
Winnik-Lapierre-Kassian

Streit-Edler
Hamhuis-Bieksa
Garrison-Tanev

Schneider
Theodore

Italics - Pending UFA
Bold - Trade-able.

If the Canucks can't sign Weber....

To be fair, Pittsburgh is a perfect fit for Perry and Getzlaf just won the SC with the Bruins. It's a thing to let UFA test the market but we also need to keep it realistic.

Rich Peverley ($3.250m) / Chris Kelly ($3.000m) / Matt Beleskey ($1.000m)
Daniel Paille($1.300m) / Gregory Campbell ($1.600m) / Shawn Thornton ($1.100m)

After having a big deal fall apart, we are looking to add some high-end talent to the team. We have had discussions with numerous teams and we think something may get done before the start of FA.

Current offers for Ryan Kesler include

- 2014 1st, top prospect, 2nd line winger
- 2014 1st, elite prospect, 3rd line winger
- Young Borderline elite winger
- Mid-tier 2nd line C + top prospect.

Just to give some comparable examples. He WILL not go for cheap, do not offer me 2nds or dud prospects, only quality, no quantity.

We are putting Vincent Lecavalier OTB. Vincent has been a corner piece to our franchise for the past decade and it will not be easy to deal him.

The Bolts will use their single amnesty clause on Sami Salo. He will become a free agent if he decides not to retire.

As well, the Lightning will not be offering contracts to the following free agents:
- Sergei Gonchar
- BJ Crombeen
- Nate Thompson
- Adam Hall
- TJ Wyman
