Learning About The KHL

With more players headed over to the KHL, which is apparently the 2nd best pro hockey league in the world...... I thought I'd learn a bit about it for comparison sakes.

Many likely know this information but I'm sure some do not.

Salary Cap is approx. 37M. Many teams exceed the cap although I'm not sure why it's permitted.

Revenue disparity among the teams is massive. A few have payrolls in the 50M - 60M while one of the bottom feeding teams "boast" gross team revenue at around 500K.

Total attendance last season was 3.6M (52 games played per season although some sites say 56)

Average attendance is 5,906.

Not really comparable to the NHL...... not even close. Top ticket prices are around $21.00

more info found here.
