Hurricane Sandy-Ottawa Edition
Best of luck to anyone out east having to deal with this. Binghamton guys keep us updated on how you guys are doing, New York is going to get hit bad. This Hurricane is supposed to demolish some of out east and may veer over to us due to its unpredictability. If it comes into Ottawa its for the best that a thread stays up for some notifications, regardless we are going to get tons of rain and some snow.

All's quiet here in Morrisville 3 hours south of the O. No rain, nothing but fog.

They've already shut down trains and buses in NYC. I got an email from work saying everyone is encouraged to work from home tomorrow and Tuesday. I'm not seeing anything outside but my ex, who lives in queens, says it's mad wind down there right now.

We won't be seeing anything for a while. National Hurricane Centre says the eye of it will be around here on Thursday.. should see some stormy conditions a little before that.

If only it was a little colder...this would be an epic snowstorm.

Yeah, traditionally they speed up when becoming extratropical - not the case with this one..

Pretty sure that means they'll start to get the storm-force winds around then.

Thx..there's been panic shopping in the stores the last 2 days..bread/water/dairy is in very little supply..we have had our share of floods but rarely has there been a hurricane blowing through the area..

It's not going to be another Hazel for us, but the damned thing has impressive size. We're going to see rain all week...and considering how Ottawa has dealt with any heavy rainfall lately, I'd definitely expect to see some flooding....and a bazillion tons of raw sewage hitting the river again.
