The only way I can tie the Sharks winning to the Giants winning is very unfortunate. The Giants were a nice distraction from the lack of Hockey and that whole Lockout thing. Now that Baseball is over, I think I'm going to start feeling more effects of the Lockout and it sucks.

Wow man, they closed every bar at 12:30am tonight. Wtf

On the other hand, the city was burning ... trash cans, upside down cars, glass everywhere.

The Giants are AWESOME. Epic post season. Sadly I had to work and watched the final out on a live score tracker (At least I got to see game 1 Panda magic and game 2)

Saw the 2010 win but wow the Giants and SJ Earthquakes are bringing never say die into the bay area on the real. Please take note Sharks. God I miss hockey.

Giants 2012 champs hell yeah!

I knew they could do it this team just had too much swagger... Verlander? Oh you mean that guy Panda took yard 3 times in 1 world series game

Great performance by the Giants but damn some of you people do a good job being a Debbie Downer by prodding the Sharks over it. The Giants had 50+ years of bad teams and bad luck go their way and now two titles in three years means looking down at a team you supposedly cheer for? Great way to celebrate.

I really hate that, and this happens with all fanbases for the most part. You guys just won, that doesn't mean burning down the city.

I will say that the celebration and presenting of the trophy for MLB is pretty anti-climatic ... The players go nuts when they win, do a few interviews, then off to the locker room to spray champagne while the owner, GM and manager shake hands with the commish offstage somewhere? I was expecting much more ... Am I missing something?

Totally odd request but is anyone willing to mail me the front page of the Merc and SF Chronicle (assuming they put the Giants win on the front) or both Sports sections from last night's Giants win?

2 copies each would be preferred.

PM if you are willing and I will pay you back on the shipping and newspaper.

I think he meant the two being the Kings and the Giants. Heat won the NBA Title and the other Giants won the Super Bowl.

I would love to see San Francisco get the World Series trophy and the Vince Lombardi Trophy in about 4 months. That would be cool.

? no i was counting them. california currently has 2 champions: the kings and the giants. im assuming those idiots running the league end up canceling the season, in which case the kings stay on as reigning champs. the heat and the ny giants currently own the crown in the other two sports. if the niners win the superbowl tho in feb (possible given how good they are) and the lakers win the nba championship in june (possible, they are consensus #2 and with the thunder dumping their 3rd best player, probably the best team in the west), then our fair state would have all four reigning champs at the same time! which is absolutely unprecedented. not even mass (boston) or ny (with ALL their many teams) have accomplished this.

The only thing less likely than the Sharks winning a Cup.

Sacramento Kings are right there with the Warriors, maybe even less likely.

you know if you take out the miracle 2007 upset, the warriors have done nothing since 92. that's 20 full years of suckiness. to put that in perspective, not even the cleveland browns or the CBJs have sucked that long. out of all the 122 teams in pro sports, only the pitts pirates have sucked as much as the warriors.

San Francisco had the highest rating for Game 4 at 38.7/64. Detroit was at 37.9/53.

I believe it's lower than 2010 ratings and might be lower than the Cards NCLS ratings. And yet there were a lot more people celebrating this year. Damn bandwagoners.

Could have gotten higher ratings if they didn't show it at the Civic Center.
