Pretty sure John McTiernan is out of jail for now, they should have brought him back

I'll see it just because seeing him In Looper slaughter an army of people made me want to watch another Die Hard.

It looks like an extremely cliche and boring action movie.

The Die Hard franchise run its cours after the third one. The 4th one was atrocious, poor acting, poor story, and refusal to finish off the "Yippie-Kai-Yay" sentance, which I imagine they will do this time again.

Yes. The scene in the park where they are defusing the bomb. A truck i'm a passenger in is riding by & you see me hanging out of the window trying to see what was going on.

I really did not know what they were fliming, the following spring i'm in the movie theater & there I am.

I was watching the movie the other day on my 55" TV & my scene came up & my girlfriend & I were like wow I don't recognize you. I was so young, 20 yo.

I was dating this girl at the time the movie was released & her Father was in the opening sequence. He was the guy setting up the jewlry store window. He passed away a couple of years ago. RIP.

Willis has said he's interested in a 6th one, too.

Anyway, I'm definitely going to go see it.

Die Hard
Die Hard With a Vengeance

Live Free or Die Hard
Die Hard 2

That's how I'd rank them. All of them are good, but Die Hard and Die Hard With a Vengeance are great.

I am betting 90% of the people that are like "wow, really, why, the 4th was terrible" are still going to see this movie. The 4th was awesome, with the way the bad guys had a great plan, and nobody could do ****. The government was completely worthless.

I hated the car into the helicopter, the low flying jets, etc. But it's an action movie, who gives a ****. I love Willis, and will gladly watch #5.

This sums it up. The Fourth one should have been called "Generic 2000s Action Movie." No continuity, bad acting, Willis wasn't playing McLean anymore, it was just him playing himself. I saw it and it was like an episode of MST3K in the movie theater.

The video game that Sega put out in the late 90s with the squarish bodies and his daughter as a cop with him had more continuity and feel for the franchise than 4 and 5.

While I enjoyed the movie, the PG-13 rating for the 4th installment was a total cop-out cash grab. And McClane became a cheesy superhero not a cop. Hopefully, the new one is a bit grittier.

Classic

Striking Distance is also good. Some of the others, I've never heard of.

Bruce Willis could rob blind children of their candy on Halloween night and I'd still never stop watching the Die Hard series. One of the biggest legends in Hollywood history. So I'll be seeing Part 5. And come on, what do you expect, it's not going to be the first one. Nothing beats an original.

Michael Scott was spot on about what went wrong with the Die Hard franchise.

Yup, saw a couple of reviews in Finnish papers today, average rating was 1Ĺ/5 stars. Plot is supposedly stupid, short and rushed. "It could fit in a half sheet of paper." One review mentioned how the first Die Hard had a great script, colorful characters and the plot and characters were set up with care and detail to an audience that had an attention span longer than an average music video. "Feels like these are made an increasingly younger audience."

It was okay, think people expect to much of it because of the name, but it was a very short plot.

Nothing special about this movie. Boring plot, boring action, bad villain, nothing you haven't seen many times before. Willis doesn't even know how to be McLane anymore.

One good action sequence and one ok Willis moment. Therefore 1/5. Also in this case it was a good thing that the movie wasn't very long.
