If the vote last night took place a month from now the Yotes would be dead. The mayor wants them gone and the rest of the incoming city council wants them gone.

The out going members of the council saved them last night.

The mayor said " I'd rather support our cities other uniforms than Coyotes uniforms "

Changing name from Phoenix to Arizona (Coyotes) leads to new logo, new jerseys, new merchandise, and possibly state tax exemptions.
well that makes it all ok then

I'm pretty stunned that they are staying assuming the sale goes through by 1/31.

The Arizona Coyotes?

Why not just call them the WILE E. COYOTES?

Yeah, that's a rough one. Hope for Harding that he can play a normal career out and live the rest of his life with minimal symptoms. Never want to hear anything like that.

Good for him to keep playing. Milk every ounce of his playing days he can.

Can we get Josh to attend the NHL negotiations and remind them there's more at stake here than money?

Poor Harding. That guy never could catch a break and now this. Very sad news.

On the bright side, and don`t take this the wrong way, it`s a great opportunity for Hackett, who I`m rooting for.

Awful news for Harding. Never want anything like that to happen to anyone. Hope he lives as symptom free as possible

That's sad for Harding. He says he wants to continue to play, and I think he will if he can. Hackett could get a shot next year though. They may decide not to bring back Backstrom(I wouldn't mind him as a stop gap after Marty to transition Wedgewood in if he isn't given a multi year somewhere next year) therefore they could have Harding, and Hackett come next year.

That sucks about Harding. But that's awesome that he's moving forward and not going to retire.

I really don't think Wedgewood, or any of our prospects will jump right into the starting role if Marty retires in 2014. If he, and Moose both go I think we have a year or two of stop gap, and any of Frazee/Kinkaid/Wedge could backup the first year. I at least think it will be a year, and I think a 36 year old Backstrom would be better than a 38 year old Theodore, or a 38 year old Vokoun(Who is already breaking down) or a 40 year old Nabokov. Those will probably be our realistic choices at the time, and I'd take Backstrom.

You did it again.

Except I said this in 2011. Which only supports the argument you made, of course. Vokoun shouldn`t be an option two years from now.

Yeah Vokoun wasn't that good with Washington last year. If you're a stat watcher he looked miles better than Marty. Though watching many games last year the stats were deceiving. Saw him let in a lot of goals that he did not let in just a year or two before. I'm not sure Washington goes 7 games with the Rangers last year if he's in net. Possibly not even past Boston.

Reserving judgement til I see what the next move is and how long it takes.

I had no expectation that the mediator would lead to anything ground breaking initially, just help pull everyone's heads out of their ***** a little bit. Just a tiny bit, so they can get some oxygen in there.

The NHL is a full blown joke at this point but it's actually funny now with how much of a **** show this league is. You can't make this stuff up.

Same ****, different day

I can't believe how much I was into this league and now as this moves on longer and longer, how little I seem to care
