Their offer triples what News Corp. had been paying.

That's good but I am worried about how they would subsequently cover F1. Delayed races is fine for me, but I can see how it wouldn't be for others.

NBCSN finally making some headway. It's a big loss for ESPN, who I assume will once again ignore the sport if they can't get CL back, or go to Spain again.

As long as it's not BeIN. Curious what this does for TSN's rights. Canadian rights are also up this year AFAIK.

Looking at the F1 schedule most of the European races (where there are more likely to be conflicts) are during the summer in the european soccer offseason.

You can kiss Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Soccer Plus goodbye.

They are claiming NBC won.

It is likely NBC may schedule a game Sunday afternoons to compete against the NFL on Fox and CBS

That's hilarious, because they would have absolutely no impact on scheduling whatsoever. All they could do is run a game tape-delayed.

Pretty much All FSC does all day is replay two-week old PL matches.

Fox Soccer still has the rights for the Champions League until 2016 and FOX is getting all FIFA competitions starting in 2015. Maybe Fox Soccer will stick around but they will need to pick up the Bundesliga in the summer or they just show SkySports all day Worst case scenario is Fox makes it into a generic sports channel which shows soccer with other sports.

ESPN will only have MLS after 2014 if they even retain that (I guess they still have rights to USA home matches even after 2014?). I doubt NBC will sub-license games to them either, so looks like international soccer on ESPN is done for a few years. I'm not a huge fan of Darke or Macca, I know they are popular with most fans, but I don't think NBC can sign them until 2014 anyway, I assume Darke is tied up by ESPN until the 2014 World Cup.

BeIN Sport is still in the picture for EPL rights

I hope BeIN doesn't get it. I don't get them on FIOS.

It's possible NBC could still sell a game a week to ESPN.

I personally think that FSC will go after the La Liga rights to compete.

Telemundo will also have rights, which is great. I would honestly prefer to listen to Andres Cantor over any English language coverage.

I will happy to not have to watch the Sky Sports feeds anymore. Their commentators still think it's the 1960s.

ESPN has the Euro 2016. I can also see them getting the Copa America rights the same year which USA will host. Maybe they'll get more Euro qualifiers, Gold Cups, and int. friendlies. The beauty of soccer is that there are plenty of leagues and tournaments to go around; so no network is truly shut out of the sport if they don't want to be.

I don't care who wins the rights; I just hope more of my regular channels can cover the EPL. Buying FSC and similar channels add up.

They should give us Sunday morning games so we have something to watch instead of NFL pregame jargon.

We already have that, just tune to FOX Soccer for the remainder of the season.

I never watch NFL pregame crap. No need to when there is live sports on already.

I REALLLLLYYYYY hope beIN gets this. Everybody will get beIN if they land this contract, and they cover football incrediblyyyyyy well. Absolutely love the network.

Would be nice if they could pick up the Bundesliga as well.

Imagine a double header of Man U - Arsenal with Piers Morgan crying and complaining in the studio about Wenger, followed by Flyers - Pens and crappy goaltending from both teams.

Then we will have one network covering the same amount of leagues we used to get from 2 networks. In Spanish. It would be a step backwards. No thanks.
