Entering the pitch with kids in hand...

I don't get it.

I mean I'm sure it has some symbolism to it. But to me, lately it seems like it's contrived. The players barely even look at the kids. The kids look like they have "mommy told me not to speak with strangers" faces. It looks damn awkward.

should they really stop this silly tradition?!

As pointless as the 30 kids with the Champions League patch/flag that wave it around while the music is playing. Pageantry for the sake of pageantry.

It IS fun when a kid gets thrust into the middle of a very grown-up situation like this ... I like the kid's reaction at 0:40 of the Roy Keane / Patrick Vieira "If you love Senegal, why don't you f'ing play for them" fight.

Think back when you were 10. Walking out with your favourite team and meeting your idols. Its a big deal when you're that age.

As someone who did this when I was a kid, **** no. It's awesome beyond words.
