i've heard some scoff at this pick because the Leafs would just be picking the son of Tie, but Max is a center, has legit talent and he looks like he's built like a tree stump.

I hear a lot of people say Jones is the perfect partner for E. Johnson, but don't they both play the right side? It's not exactly "ideal" if one is forced to play their off side.

Jonathan Drouin for the Devils would be perfect I'd think. Drouin - Zajac - Kovalchuk would be awesome, in theory. Obviously that's a pipe dream unfortunately...

If Zajac decides to test free agency and leave this coming summer though (if the new CBA doesnt change any rules regarding free agency age) then I'd think Sean Monahan or Hunter Shinkaruk would be great fits as well.

Agreed with everyone saying Drouin to Tampa, that would be a dream come true! A few others:

MacKinnon: Columbus
Jones: Edmonton
Monahan: Toronto
Pulock: Dallas
Barkov: Montreal
Nurse: Philadelphia
Shinkaruk: Anaheim
Ristolainen: Colorado
Compher: Minnesota
Lazar: Calgary

Drouin,Barkov or Erne to Montreal. Drouin is from Quebec, Barkov is a habs fan and Erne would complete an all-american line Pac-Galch-Erne.

Barkov and Lazar fit what LA would want in a center. The problem is we have 6-7 NHL centers going forward for the next few years.

I don't see Shinkaruk as a great fit for us; not saying he's someone we should avoid. Being an ex-teammate isn't a good justification for a pick.

Lazar for Edmonton forsure. Or Jones, Ristolainen or Pulock if we were in that position.

Yeah I'd prefer Barkov, Lindholm, or Monahan.

If thats a draft order, no way Toronto passes on Barkov for Monahan.

I really want Mackinnon in Toronto though, seeing how were the only team who hasn't made the playoffs between lockouts, we should have a good chance

Monahan seems a far better fit for Toronto than Barkov, although I do think Barkov will be better.

Lindholm for Detroit. He's a cousin of Jarnkrok... The euro-cousins...

Vancouver - Ristolainen (I'm a huge fan of the guy, really looks to be a top - flight defense prospect. The nucks could sure use one of those)

Montreal - Drouin (He oozes talent, and he's home grown. He would look great on Galchenyuk's wing)

Edmonton - Ryan Pulock (Like I need to describe this selection... )

Winnipeg - Elias Linholm (They need a blue chip centre prospect badly, and lindholm would look great with Kane)

Ottawa - Adam Erne (Would add some muscle and offensive flair to the team, could be the successor to Alfie)
Other than the Alfie part, i agree. his combination of scoring ability and hard-nosed play has me intrigued.

For Vancouver

Unrealistic picks that fit-Ristolainen/Pulock/Barkov(gives them #1D/#1/2C)

Realistic picks that fit-Mantha/Gauthier/Morrissey(big winger/centre and top 4 D)
