Need to get in one or two more things than those two, but at least they should be done early in the window.

I really don't think so. I spoke to a youth trainer after the Yesil transfer, and he was shocked to see the general public's opinion still so high on him, purely based on the performance of the German national teams. Maybe not shocked, but obviously disagreeing. He was miles away from becoming a bench option for Leverkusen with his lack of attitude (read: willingness to improve) and lack of being able to compete physically, with hardly any noticeable kind of improvement in the past two years. Bayer never struggled to bring up kids that were somewhat able to play at the pace required, so I'm going to go with their say on this, and believe this kid is nowhere close to being able to effectively play in the EPL right now. He might score a goal or two over a number of games, but there doesn't seem to be any chance he'd be a half-decent player for a team at that type of level right now.

He would get murdered in any top professional league right now.

Having watched a bit of his youth games + NexLions Cup, he's still a while off being good enough for the first team

I forget that there's parts of the internet where people don't just assume I'm being facetious.

Even better for Newcastle. We don't have enough injury problems so might as well just import some!

But he wasn't "left out" for any other reason.

#ChelseaFC have open talks with Atletico Madrid last night for Forward Falcao. This request has come from owner not manager. #CFC

The guy's been spot on with a lot, as others in the thread have said.

I'm not Sturridge's biggest fan by any means, but I'm cautiously optimistic about his signing. It seems to me he brings exactly what LFC need in terms of finishing, but I guess it remains to be seen how well he will mesh with Suarez and whoever else plays upfront.

I am curious to see whether they stick with Suarez in the middle or put Sturridge there.

Spotted this in a semi-old article.

Brendan Rodgers says he's looking to bring in "players who can assist in scoring goals" in January. So typically, today's tittle-tattle has Liverpool monitoring French centre-half Nicolas Isimat Mirin of Valenciennes and keeping tabs on Feyenoord's Stefan de Vrij, also a defender. In goal-getting news, though, they are also ready to strip to the waist and go mano-a-mano with Chelsea over Lyon's Bafétimbi Gomis.
Already know about Gomis but I think that's out of the question anyway. Never watched Isimat-Mirin play before though and would be surprised if many have. Any thoughts, Evilo?

Isimat-Mirin is a high calibur CB prospect. Lots of teams have asked for him.
But he's still young and can make mistakes. The potential is high though.
Among young french CB he's probably fifth behind Varane, Sakho, Zouma and Mbiwa (in no order). A little step down from those 4, but a good step up from the rest as well.

Cazorla and Podolski feeding Ba could be deadly.

Hmmm.

Chance of SAF retiring this summer = 20%
Chance of Ronaldo going to United this summer = 10%
Chance of both happening = 20% x 10% = 2%

Not sure why would Atletico sell Falcao now and not wait until summer to make sure they make the Champions League next season.

Maximum price and they need the money. That's why they haven't cup tied him by keeping him off of the sheet for the EL.

Might have something to do with FFP revoking their prize money from last year.

Neither will happen. CR7 might eventually return but not anytime soon, IMO.

I also think David Moyes takes over for SAF. Wouldn't mind it but they can do better.

Podolski feeding anyone? I'm not sure you're understanding what Poldi's use is as a player, but feeding anyone isn't his strong suit it's coming in and pounding in goals off of his left foot.

I'm pretty sure Arsenal are not going to sign Demba Ba. Two main reasons.

A.) Wages.

B.) Arsenal very rarely sign players already playing in the Premier League for that exact reason. If you sign a player from another Prem club you are going to pay a huge wedge to them. Not Wenger's philosophy.

Besides, it's not really Arsenal's MO to sign players in January. Henry on loan will be all that happens just like last season. Frankly, if Arsenal wanted Ba, they would have signed him in the summer when they only had one striker signed and he seemed to be touted about.
