I can't believe with the 1 million dollars I had to spend, I couldn't even sign the one cheap free agent I wanted, Jason Zucker. I love that kid! Calgary got him, I doubt he'l end up that great but I would have liked him as a prospect!

Damn you, Calgary!

One game this block for the revamped Lightning...against the defending Cup champions no less. Should be fun.

Rangers win the first game of the season 1-2.
GWG was juggled by Miller.... hit in the air by himself (that twirl move)... baseball goal. blah. gg.
Grigorenko and Psysk both looked good for being 66's.

I want more than 2 damn games this suckssssss

1-0 win for Edmonton to open the season. Very well played game against Calgary.

Vermette makes an immediate impact in his debut getting the primary assist on the lone Oilers tally.

You're lucky to have 2... I have 1 against LA and he's not here.
I've been waiting all day for at least 1 game and I won't have it

RANGERS GET REVENGE, TAKE DOWN SABRES 2-1
First game of the season pitted the New York Rangers against the Buffalo Sabres. Many of you might remember this former Game 7 match-up in last years playoffs. The Rangers led the Sabres 3-1, when the Sabres came back from the deficit and won the series.

The Rangers introduced Dylan McIlrath, J.T. Miller, and Christian Thomas to the team in the season opener, all three playing exceptionally well. Thomas and Miller aren't expected to stay as the New York Rangers are expected to fill out their fourth line with some free agents, now that they have cleared up salary by demoting Wade Redden to the Connecticut Whale.

The Rangers took the game by two goals coming from veteran Brad Richards, one of them was quite a highlight as he batted the puck in the air. The top line of Callahan-Richards-Gaborik came out with 6 points combined and the Rangers exacted revenge on the Buffalo Sabres by a score of 2-1.

THREE STARS
B. Richards
H. Lundqvist
M. Gaborik

How's your roster look? My fourth line of all players below 70 overall looks great!

Life is better now with Redden in the minors. I imagine you feel the same with Gomez gone.

Sharks sweep season opening home and home with CBJ.

Game 1 - Pretty defensive battle with CBJ dishing out hits like they were Katy Perry! Just running over the sluggish to start Sharks. This one had a crazy finish. While tied 1-1 with 12 seconds Niemi just robbed Shinkaruk of what should have been his first career NHL goal on a 2 on 1. Then with 6 seconds left Thornton opts to shoot over a sprawled defender on the odd man rush to ice the game.

Game 2 - This game was also close although the sharks seemed to find their legs. Putting up a much more respectable 30 shots en route to a 3-1 win. Niemi again made huge saves as CBJ poured it on a few times.

While Columbus was a 30th place team last season they look to be much improved this year and the Sharks are more than happy walking away 2-0-0 to start the season.

Jets Opener

The banner raising night was a success in Winnipeg! First game of the season for the defending champs was up and down, but we were able to pull it off in overtime 3-2 against the rival Caps. Wooohooo Captain Ladd!

Fourth line of Nystrom-Fiddler-Engvist was terribly slow as was my D, but good defensively. Have 4 80+ players coming in for the next play period.

Going to give the Gals (-chenyuk and -lagher) a taste of the NHL until I get my FAs back, they're speedy.

Anybody interested in:

Jones (78)
Zanon (78)
Morrissonn (78)
O'Brien (77)

Would literally not as for much, maybe late round picks/prospects unless its a package deal involving at least two of them.
