Now get ready for the real battle, trying to squeeze more than two pennies out of the insurance companies.

Power has been out for 18.5hrs now. Doesnt look like there are too many downed trees in my immediate vicinity.

Nice and chilly out.

I told the wife if I lived on the coast yesterday I would have started calling all the repair services you will need now to get on the list before it even hits to at least have some priority in the cleanup.

Water Damage
Roofing
Tree removal
etc...

assuming you have something to come back to that it.

Last night on CNN they said it was the largest square mileage storm ever to hit the US and it was actually gaining wind strength as it moved West (which isn't supposed to happen?). Crazy stuff.

And now it's coming right for me.

Jim came down from the mountain for some beef jerky and batteries. Stay warm this winter pilgrim.

So I was in the jeep telling my mother let's go home but she kept driving to work. She would not stop for anything not even down trees and cones blocking roads. lol

Only came for power and WiFi at work but Hospital still on the generators and now agressive water conserving.

I just woke up to snowfall and a white campus. Especially on a hilly campus like WVU, driving's gonna be a little risky.

However this is nothing compared to what you guys up by the coast are dealing with. Hope you all are safe.

Shocked I never lost power in Astoria. Still have my dish working too. No damage besides tree limbs but people in my hometown in NJ I hope are doing okay and obviously everyone too.

My work is closed tomorrow but i do wonder if it has more to do with out-of-district teacher's homes being damaged than anything with the town.

Seems they escaped the major damage that Irene delivered and its downed trees and power outages.

I will say if there is no power for myself, id rather attempt to teach in a school with no power lol

All of the locations I affiliate myself with were worse off from the Susquehanna flooding than the hurricane yesterday/today.

Except for my poor old dad having his random car stuff stolen. Shoulda hidden it better.

i was in lucky in morris county and its pretty bad. no real bad downpours for any period of time and that would of saturated the ground even more and led to many more trees down.

I've just been out looking for gas. The one open station is currently "closed" because the police are using it to gas up. Practically the only open station in town. Talk about a task though, Power lines down, hanging low in streets, but people are driving around them and trees. Only place thats lite up is the bar hahaha.

People from my town are ****ing stupid. A lot of them are saying the hurricane last night wasn't that bad. What they fail to realize is we live about 300 miles away from New York/Jersey. There was just a bit of wind last night. Some were even expecting flooding. *facepalm*
