Jim Dowd via TG:

Quote:
Dowd has a brother who still lives in Brick, who “lost pretty much everything, the first floor.”

“They were part of the flood over there in Brick and everything got taken out of there in all that,” Dowd said. “Some areas got hit pretty bad.”

Dowd said his family has been trying to help those around him who were impacted by the storm. Longer term, he’d like to put together some kind of fund-raising event.

Dowd has some experience in this area. He organizes his “Shoot for the Stars Foundation” Shore High School All-Star Hockey Game every summer.

“I’ve made a few calls already for a game or something like that,” Dowd said. “I’m sure something will get done.”
Greene/Marty/Moose:

Quote:
Greene echoed what Brodeur and Hedberg said Monday about wanting to do what they can to help out.

“Definitely,” Greene said. “Today was the first day was back together again skating again. I’m sure we’ll try to put something together at least to help out.”

What's going on with the nor'easter? I'm in NYC and have classes from 10-2:30 so I don't want to be ****ed by the subways. Also our first day of classes since Sandy, how fitting.

^ from what I saw on weather.com(that's the weather channel's website, btw), there's going to be a combo of Rain/Snow/Wind starting in the late hours tomorrow night(i think) and continuing well into Thursday morning.

Sounds like Sleet. Oh Joy. I'm going to have soooo much "fun" driving in this weather.

Ya, this other storm coming has me worried. Last thing we need is heavy snow when the ground is softened from all that rain.

I really should stop listening to Francesa on WFAN, some of the horror stories coming out about why power isn't being fixed is worrying me (since I'm still in the dark too). Like the man said though, they got Atlantic City going in a day, the subways in a weekend, they really need to start making progress on peoples' homes and businesses. In Jersey and NY.

As long as you keep him away from attending any shock-jock's radio program, he's definitely someone you'd want to hug.

Which reminds me....

The combination of the lockout *and* Sandy pretty much eliminates any potential PR firestorm regarding Cammer's "indiscretions" on that radio station if any can remember.

The fact that Cam seems like such a stand up guy, and the kind of guy you wanna hang out with is why I don't completely hate him like Boulton, and Peters.

I can see Barch getting bought out this Summer. Hopefully we can move him cause he was just moved by Dallas to Florida last year. I wouldn't hold my breath though. He seems like a complainer which might translate to cancer if he's left off the playoff roster like the goons were last year by Pete. That, and his agent saying ''Krys just wants a chance to play'' when we signed him. I don't like the looks of him.

We've got a solid 3 inches or so of snow in Bergen County and by the looks of stuff, southern NJ is in the same boat snow level wise with no signs of it slowing down for a few hours at least - a transformer has already started a fire near my house

Water levels prior to dusk already had begun to rise again

By the way, Chris Matthews is an idiot. I'm sure people in NJ and NYC were not impressed by his remarks saying he was glad for Sandy because it made Obama win.

If Chris Mattews said that then he can go burn in hell.

Also, snow is starting to stick here in NYC. Already shoveled because it's at least an inch and slick.

Come home from work to see my porch light on and no frigging generator sound.

OOOOOOOOOOOOH CANNNNNNNADA

BTW Chris Mattews is without doubt an idiot.

Ya, he said it. He apologised for it today and even called himself an idiot, but he can't take it back.

^ He's right. He can't.

Once you say something, it's been said.

All he could do was apologize AND BE CONTRITE about it.

He was contrite. He has memories of the Jersey Shore like many of you, he just wasn't thinking when he said it. He plans to do more for victims now.

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/m...-election.html

But he's still an idiot.

Dano even had something to say about his remarks:

Ken Daneyko ‏@KenDaneykoMSG
@BoomerandCarton heard that last night and was thinking same thing, the tragedy of Hurricane Sandy in the tri-state area and Chris Matthews

Ken Daneyko ‏@KenDaneykoMSG
@BoomerandCarton with that moronic statement, keep up the good work boys!

To be fair, he's always been an idiot. This wasn't surprising.
