Source?

This is what he's always been working towards, imo. Now it's a question if the players go along with him out of spite for Bettman. This is not the fight they hired him for.

Does it matter now? If they pull this now you can pretty much kiss this season good bye and maybe the next one. No way we have NHL hockey without a salary cap. Guarantee some teams will fold prompting a dispersal draft and loss of jobs for the players. I'm pretty much done with hockey now.

Fehr hasn't made a single proposal with linkage in it, so I think it is safe to say his game plan from day one has been to eliminate the cap.

Yeah, so we can turn Hockey into a pissing contest, allowing large market teams to sign the best players, while the smaller market teams can't compete and eventually crash and die. **** the NHLPA!

Which pundits are saying this on Twitter? I haven't heard anything from the usual guys (e.g. McKenzie, Dreger, etc.)

I just looked on twitter. And no one's reporting this. I call BS (particularly b/c OP has so few posts).

Could I get a link to one of these twitters? I do not see a mention of it anywhere yet.

And yes, until that happens I call BS. Although it is funny to see how many jumped on the **** the PA bandwagon so quickly if it is indeed BS.

If this is true, and not a "well it's an option", but if he comes right out and say this?

(I say this from a damage to NHL perspective):

"Goodbye NHL, it was nice knowing you as you are now"

I honestly cannot see how this plus the possible loss of a year, might be a long time before 3.3 billion becomes realistic I think. Because the owners will say put guaranteed contracts on the table, and it might be a very long time before we see NHL again-not to mention I think at least 1-2 franchises may bite the dust in that time.

I wonder why Fehr would Nuke now....guess he thinks the owners are already planning to lose the year anyway.

Hey man $2.25 mil/year is just not enough to live on these days, really need that $2.4 mil to get by.

So random dude says he has a "very inside source" and makes a wild claim deserves a thread? The mods need to shoot down this thread, preferably from a grassy knoll.

Erm, still seeing nothing on the Twitter or, well, any talk of such a thing in the past hour... day...

Waiting with a torch, though.

I see one tweet from a non reputable source being retweeted a bunch of times.

Closing until there is a real link.
