Sega Genesis 80 games in a box

Just saw this at the store this morning; couldn't take a good look at it; but I'm trying to find more info online and haven't had much luck.
Trying to get a game list of the 80 games; I'm thinking there will be about a dozen good games and the rest not so much.
Anyone have it, or seen it that could help with a game list?

Is this a deal that Sega has or is it something one guy is selling? I don't understand what the deal consists of.

Try as I might, I can't find a list of games anywhere. Best I could do was this video that shows the back of the box which depicts some of the games. http://gotgame.com/2012/09/14/sega-g...sole-unboxing/

What is irksome is that people will make a 5 minute ****ing video about OPENING A ******* BOX but don't bother to spend a few minutes to list the games the thing comes with.

edit: from this link I found:

Quote:
Overall there are 40 classic Sega Genesis games on each system, and 40 bonus games not originally found in the Genesis library. The selection of bonus games is the same on both the console and the portable. These are the types of games you might expect to find on a plug and play console. The bonus titles vary greatly in quality, but there are still a few solid titles on the list. There are also some extremely bizarre games, including one title that is basically a human version of Frogger. (Simply called "Cross the Road.")

Now there may be some confusion among consumers who buy these products thinking they come with 80 Genesis games. However if you examine the box for each product, you can see they clearly mention the "bonus" games. But this still won't keep some people from being disappointed with the selection of bonus games. Foruntately, the portable system allows users to add their own games. And console is said to have an SD Cart adapter cartridge in the works, which will allows gamers to play their Genesis roms on the AtGames console.
The console also supports standard Genesis cartridges, which is a very big plus as they are easy to find and many of them are cheap. We tested the console with a number of different Genesis games, and although we found a few that did not function properly, the vast majority of our collection worked with the AtGames Genesis console.
So that ought to at least tell you that much. 40 Genesis games, probably the ones that are depicted on the back of the box (I didn't count but it looks like there could be 40).

Every since Sonic the Hedgehog games were made easily available either on the computer or on my Xbox i lost all nostalgic urge to play Sega games again. This deal seems like a waste of however much money it will cost IMHO

Glad to help. I see they also make a portable version in the vain of an old Game Gear. That's a sweet idea considering you get the "typical" portable console controllers. Beats the hell out of a phone.

I bought a "Retron 3" last year... plays SNES, NES and Sega games all on the one console.

Controllers suck, but has plugins for all the original controllers.

excellent. Thanks!!
Not sure that list is worth 50/60 dollars. Probably could buy the 4/5 pretty good games on Xbox Live (or some where else) for much less than that. Was hoping for a few more classics.

that's an even better list than the 80 game console, and probably far cheaper used. Will have to see if they make it for 360. I loved the Shining Force/Shining in the Darkness games; they were awesome!!

They do:

I think you can Download it on PSN & Xbox Live too. Personally I prefer the Physical copy though.

Is Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles able to be played together OR separate?

I played the crap out of Beyond Oasis (still do wink wink ).

The world created on that cartridge was so much more expansive than anything at the time, it was just enthralling. Not to mention the game play itself was diverse and interesting.

Almost every game n that collection is worth playing the entire way through.

Even the plain "solid 90's arcade titles" - ESWAT, Alien Storm, and Altered Beast are worth 30 minutes of your time.

I mean you're looking at 250-300 hours in just RPGs/Action RPGs. I would love to revisit some of those.

If anyone is on PS3, could you do me a favor and check the price of the Sega Ultimate game? I'm at work and was going to pick up a PSN card, but not sure whether to grab a $20 or $50..

It was $20 brand new in store when it first came out, but I shall check.

I'm not sure why I'm typing this, rather than just checking and then posting the price, but let's see...

Oh, nice. An update to the Playstation store, this will surely be innovative.

What... the... ****? PS Store is hideous now... why would they change it to this?

Anyway, uh, there's a game called Sega Genesis Collection, which has 28 games on it for $15.99. Not quite the same as the in store one, but it seems to be all they have.

Yeah, the new store is TERRIBLE. I hate it. The only positive is all DLC is listed under the games now, but it's freaking annoying. So brutal. It looks like the 360 Market Place now, which is also garbage.

And thanks, that sucks. I'll have to find it in store then. The collection you refer to doesn't have Streets of Rage or Phantasy Star 1. Oh well.

Thank you man!
