You're reading way too much into the invite. Gibson is there to get a taste of playing with the big dogs. He's not there to win anything. They need extra goaltenders for camp. As others have said, it's more of a reward. Camp is all of a week. Kitchner will survive while he's gone.
I don't think they are really going to use Gibson in NHL or AHL just yet. I guess it's a sort of reward for him and the management can check him out more closely. Or something. Seriously he's not threating anyones job by being there.
Gibson isn't eligible for the AHL. Not for another season.
Haven't heard anything, but I gotta think he'll at least get a shot at camp seeing as this is his first year in North America. His odds of making the team are slim though.
Didn't realize that karlsson was having that good of a season. 21 points in 34 games in SEL from a 19 YO is impressive. I hear he's also been doing quite well defensively

Thanks for that, quentez. I was hoping Friberg would put up better numbers in the Elitserien this season, but given it is the highest league in Sweden and he's only 20 I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. He's already proven he can dominate when playing amongst his age group, and puts up big numbers in Division 1 (supposedly 3rd best Swedish league, but I'm pretty sure there's a significant drop off after Elitserien and the Allsvenskan leagues.) He's small and fast with a good shot and a release that's... unique. It's quick, but also tricky for goalies to pick up sometimes. Also what I find interesting is, rather than finding the open ice, it seems to come to him. At least, that's what I saw after watching him very closely in last years WJC. Small sample I know but overall I think his game is better suited for NA ice, is he coming over next season? It would be really interesting to see what he can do in the AHL. I'd love to get the chance to watch the kid play more.
Anyone up on JT Compher? LW/C who is projected to be there around 20-24, USHL product. When I see his position and league, it seems like a natural fit to the Ducks.

Liked him since I saw my first USNTDP game this year. Him and Hartman are two guys I really like.
Karlsson is viewed by some to be one of our top 3 prospects. He's pretty good, and I think he's a better prospect than even Etem. Surprised to see Andersen's stats, thought he was doing a tad worse.
Wow, Scott Laughton will make the Flyers out of camp as their 3C. Had a bunch of chances to watch him live in Oshawa last year. He's a Mike Richards clone. Wish there was some way we could've drafted him.

That's interesting. So who plays wing Couturier or Schenn?
