Haven't seen him play, but I'm glad they're working on Norfolk.

Norfolk

I am very encouraged about the Ducks going out hitting the free agent market in the juniors. To me this is how you solve the depth problem in the prospect ranks.

All three look promising and I realize that the proof will come when they are out there with the AHL players. But we will get a good look when their junior seasons are over and they get some time with Norfolk at the end of the season.

The size up front doesn't bother me. Last season the two smallish players picked up as free agents, Conacher and Johnson led the team in scoring and Conacher is playing well in Tampa now. So you can uncover some real gems and hopefully we'll see that with the signings the Ducks are making here.

And Rakell I'm assuming? I mean Norfolk could end up having some serious talent...again. The coaching though?

We'll see. If Yawney isn't fired, then it's probably because he was doing what we asked him to.

Yawney did great last year. I don`t think it`s as much of a coaching problem this year than some here assumes.

Yes, we have/had some pretty good talents there, but they are still growing. We lacked veteran leadership.

I said it before the season and i say it again - there is less talent there than some here assumes (taking into account that some of them are being called up). A lot of them have great potential but they`re still not there.

I was really sad to see Holzapfel and O`Marra go. With their arrival CUse had succes last year and they made our middle so much better. This year we are very weak there.

In few words: i wouldn`t blame it all on coaching

It's a developmental league. Every team we play against has players at that experience level. There is nothing particularly off about their experience. What's odd is that even players like Maroon, Palmieri, and Holland seemed to struggle this year when they hadn't in past seasons.

This. Especially Maroon and Palmieri. They've both been dominant players at the AHL level in past years and this year they weren't. I don't like the system Yawney runs.

I wouldn't count on Rakell playing for Norfolk, I think he goes straight to the Ducks.

I haven't seen one Admirals' game but considering the talent they have had, they should be higher in the standings.

Rakell sat again. I did some digging and it turns out that they are sitting him in anticipation of the playoffs.

It's a developmental league. They get the opportunity to give their younger players more playing time in anticipation of next season, and they get to rest their best players.

So Rakell did not get to play in NHL.

And he does not play in the juniors either

Yeah, that is kind of funny. Exit Dose is right, though. It is common practice. Players get sat occasionally to rotate other players in, with the added advantage that you allow your best players to get some extra rest.

Kerdiles will be facing off against Welinski this weekend as part of the WCHA tournament. This tournament might be the only way that their teams can make it to the Div I tournament.

Lindholm picked up an assist. He is now 1+7=8 points in 28 games. He's also a +4.

Not a bad rookie year for an 18/19 year old in the AHL

Kitchener wins 7-1 on the back of a 37 of 38 save performance out of Gibson. Yeah...he's back.

I believe that's a 22 point pace for a 19 year old rookie on an offensively challenged team. Not bad.

Kerdiles had a goal and an assist in the first battle of the baby Ducks. Welinski didn't register a point.

Illo picked up an assist in their loss to the Gophers. They play again tonight. That game will be on Fox Sports North(668 on DirecTV).
